I. Objectives : at the end of the lesson, the pupils are expected to:
1. Identify and define the meaning of adjectives (grade 3&4)
2. Give examples of adjectives (grade 3&4)
3. Recognize adjectives in a sentence (grade 3&4)
4. Construct sentences using adjectives (grade 4)
5. Classify the degree of comparison (grade 4)
III. Methodology:
A. Opening Prayer
B. Energizer:
The teacher and the pupils will sing any morning songs before starting the
class.
C. Checking of attendance
D. Preview :
Let the pupils recall the previous lesson about nouns and pronouns.
Let them differentiate the two and give some examples.
E. Motivation :
Show the flash cards of the nouns and pronouns
Let the pupils illustrate what word in each cards (grade 3)
Ask determine whether it is a noun or pronoun (grade 4)
F. Presentation :
Ask: Children you ready for our next lesson today?
Today we will tackle another part of speech which is the “Adjectives”
G. Discussion :
1. Teacher will show flash card and also present the PowerPoint
presentation to discuss the meaning of adjectives and the different
types.
2. Teacher will show examples of adjectives and use them in a sentence
3. Ask the pupils if they understand and provide more information to
better understand the lesson.
4. Add in the discussion about the degree of comparison (positive,
comparative and superlative) for the grade 4 pupils.
5. Show a chart of examples of degree of adjectives
6. After discussion the teacher will ask questions to the pupils to assess if
they understand and learn the lesson, then give the pupils activities and
homework
H. Generalization :
For the grade 3: teacher will ask them what an adjective is and give
examples of adjectives.
Teacher will show a chart of sentences and let the pupils identify what
word is the adjective in the sentence
For the grade 4: teacher will ask them what an adjective is and give
examples of adjectives.
Teacher will let the student construct sentences using adjectives
Teacher will give an adjective word then the pupils will give the
comparison and superlative degree of the word
