I.

Introduction
TLE is geared towards the development of technological proficiency and is anchored on
knowledge and information, entrepreneurial concepts, process and delivery, work values and like
skills. This means that the TLE that works is one that is built on adequate mastery of knowledge
and information, skills and processes, acquisition of right work values and life skills. The TLE
that is functional is one that equips students with skills for lifelong learning. TLE that is
concerned only with mere definition of terms is meaningless and shallow. TLE that is focused on
mastery of skills and processes without right work values is anemic and dangerous. An effective
TLE is one that is founded on the cognitive, behavioral or psychomotor and affective dimensions
of human development.

II. Highlights of Accomplishments Status of Basic Education Resources

TLE by its nature is dominantly a skill subject and so I engage my students in an
experiential, contextualized, and authentic teaching-learning process. It is a subject where
students learn best by doing. It is integrative in approach. For instance, it integrates
entrepreneurship with all the areas of TLE. It integrates concepts, skills and values. TLE in
Grades 7 and 8 are exploratory in nature. The exploratory subjects on TLE focus on four basic
common competencies as follows: 1) use and maintenance of tools and equipment; 2)
mensuration and calculation; 3) occupational health and safety procedures, and 4) preparation
and interpretation of technical drawing. For Grade 7 students, which is under the Agri-crop
Production course, I let them apply what they have learned through creating a plot with different
crops like okra, eggplant and corn. Grade 8 students also experienced an earthquake drill because
emergency drills helps one to be prepared and organized in response to situations which may
unexpectedly threaten loss of life or damage to property. Grade 9 students also experienced to
make up a bed as part of the application in Housekeeping subject. It will help them to be
equipped in the future. Grade 10 students is under Cookery, all the lessons in the modules
requires them to cook different dish. So they cooked different egg dishes like scrambled egg,
poached egg and omelet. They also cooked starch dish like spaghetti.
As part of the support on the Nutrition Month Celebration, Angeles Luistro National
High School held the importance of healthy diet, increased physical activity and reduced
sedentary behavior last July 26, 2019. We had activities like Mr. & Miss Nutrition Month 2019,
cooking contest, slogan and poster making contest, and Jingle Making Contest. The Grade 8
students was declared as the Over-all Champion on the said program

IV. Educational Outcomes/Results

V. Outstanding Accomplishments
1. Best practices, value-added contributions, innovations and other
activities

We all know that teaching is not easy. There are lot of challenges that we encountered in
this time of pandemic. But despite of these challenges, we, teachers are maintaining our focus to
help our students find their success. We attend different webinars on how to cope up in the new
normal, so that we can gain strategies to provide our students the best knowledge and skills.
Technology and Livelihood Education is the subject that provide our students, not only
knowledge but specially, the skills that will help them to conquer the world. One of the best
practices that I can share with other teachers is providing frequent and timely feedback. With this
modular approach that we are currently facing right now, giving them feedback would inform
not only the students but also the parents the progress of their child’s work. They can help and
guide them if the students’ needs assistance in their module. So that in the end, no one would be
left behind. Next strategy that I’m currently practicing is I value parental involvement. Since our
students have their entire life outside of school now, we hope that our parents would totally
support them. Bridging a connection between parents and school helps everyone stay informed
and makes it easier for parents to reinforce and support what’s happening with their children.
Despite of using modular approach, we should always makes learning active. We should always
offer our students opportunities that would actively engage them in the activities provided in the
module. Example is making a tiktok video on the uses of the different tools in our lesson.
Next best practices that I’m using is always pursue life-long learning. Staying up-to-date
on movements and developments in the field would allow us to help our students be prepare in
this ever-changing world. Always tell them the benefit of studying and try to share some of your
experiences that would inspire them to pursue. We, teachers should always be committed to
provide our students with meaningful and impactful learning experiences.

2. Winning and award received

Technolympics Competition is celebrated yearly in the Department of Education for TLE
and TVL Department. It aims to train our learners leadership potentials and at the same time, it
builds also students’ confidence. This competition provides opportunities to showcase the talents
and skills of our students. It also upgrades the TLE teachers in handling life and training
situations. This technolympics also aims to achieve productiveness in the different areas of TLE
and TVL Track.
Last July 31, 2019, we are declared winner in Beauty Care Category in West District and
we compete to Area Level at Rosario National High School.
