T- give Students some copies of the lesson

ANNOUNCING THE NEW SUBJECT:

T- today we’ll do the lesson Super Athletes. We’ll read a short fragment about famous athletes and then
well do the conditional sentences
- What champion athletes can you name?
S- try to answer to this question
T- What were their achievements?
S- try to answer to this question
T- Now we’ll read the article about Super Athletes
S-read aloud on turn
T- What did you understand from the text?
S-try to answer
T- Now we’ll try to answer to some questions
S-answer to questions
T- Look at the text again and try to tell me what type of conditionals are the ones written in italics?
S- try to answer
T_ Now we’ll do the conditional sentences. Please, write the title in your notebooks.

Zero conditionals- the result of the condition is always true, like a scientific fact.
Present Simple Present simple
I am late for work if I miss the 8 o’clock bus
Eu intarziu la serviciu daca pierd autobuzul de 8.

If Clauses type 1 : -real condition


Will+ infinitive Present
We will cancel the picnic if it rains.
Vom amana picnicul daca ploua.
Type 2-unreal condition

Would +infinitive Past Simple


We would cancel the picnic if it rained.
Am amana picnicul daca ar ploua.

Type 3- unreal, impossible condition

Would have +past Participle Past Perfect


We would have cancelled the picnic if it had rained.
Am fi amanat picnicul daca ar fi plouat.
The conditional sentences can be introduced by: if, unless with a positive verb only after it, provided
that, on condition that
T- explaines these types of conditional sentences
- Gives handouts to practice the conditional sentences

HOMEWORK:
