    On Open Suse you have the fresh version of Ardour in some unofficial repository but
    if you want to compile it in order to contribute in the future you need to compile it so
    we start with the complete guide from scratch.

    I just make a guide for Linux Mint and this is the version for Open Suse.

    Mandatory requirements:

    Clone git repository checkout to your favorite version and compile

    git clone https://github.com/Ardour/ardour.git


    cd ardour
    git checkout 6.9

    ./waf configure
    ./waf

    If you want to install

    sudo ./waf install

    Conclusions
