1.0 SCOPE

This procedure outlines the methods to be followed for the erection of


Electrical Panels / Equipment.

4.0 EQUIPMENT

In general the main equipment to be used for the erection are listed below: -

No 1 Truck / Trailer
No 1 Pick-Up
No 2 Transpallets

Plywood sheets as required.


Rolling Pipes wherever required.

5.0 MATERIAL FOR PANEL / EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION


As per attached Project Schedule and Project Drawings Pertaining to the Electrical
Scope.

6.0 DESCRIPTION OF WORK METHOD


The work method to install the above mentioned Panels / Equipment shall be in the
following sequence.
A. Pre-Installation Checks
 Verification of Equipment layout from relevant Construction Drawings.
 Check drawings are of current revised status.
 Site released for Panel Installation.
 Conform readiness of the area.
 Location of the Panels / Equipment shall be determined and the covered false flooring
shall be removed to expose the main structural steel. This will however be done in
phases depending on the panel that is going to be installed.
 Review Vendor drawings of the Panels and familiarize the installation method
recommended by the Vendor.
 Exposed floor areas shall be cordoned by means of hazard identifying tape.
 Confirm that all Tools & Tackles required for installation are available. As a
minimum the following shall be made available.

Slings
D-Shackles
Crowbars
Pipe-Rollers
Fitter’s Tool Box
Electrician Tool Box
Drill Machine
Grinding Machine
 Check adequate place for Unloading the Panels.
 Confirm the Height and Width of the entrances.
 Personnel involved in the activity are made aware of the risks and the steps to be taken
to mitigate any hazard or unsafe situation.
 Foundation frame shall be made and properly aligned for the installation of the Panels.
 The tentative sequence for the Panel / Equipment erection will be as per the attached
Project Schedule.

B. Material withdrawn from ware-house

 Material inspection will be carried out to ascertain that no damage has occurred to the
equipment. Incase of any damages common inspection and report will be issued.
 Store material requisition shall be made.
 The material shall be transported in their Original packing to location.
 The Crane shall be positioned in such a way that there is no obstruction to movement
of vehicles or hindrance to works of other companies.
C. Support prefabrication

 The supports required, if any, for the installation of the Panels will
be prefabricated in the workshop of Gemmo in accordance with the drawings and
vendor recommendations.
 Frame supports supplied by vendor shall be placed in position aligned and installed.
 Frame installation will be carried out by ensuring that correct level has been achieved.

D. Description of sequence

 Equipment packages shall be unpacked outside the sub-station room just prior to the
installation.
 Shortages or damages if any shall be brought to the attention of the Contractor
/Engineer immediately.
 Each and every loose item shall be properly identified before installation.
 Panels shall be lifted by the Crane and off-loaded on the platform outside the entrance
of the respective Sub-stations / Rooms.
 It shall be ensured that the Crane lifting range will be within the specified limited
capacity, due to angular position at the entrance of the main door especially during
lifting of the heaviest Panel of 3 Tonnes.
 From here the Panels will be slided on Pipe rollers and or Transpallets over Plywood
sheets and taken to location.
 They will then be Placed in position over the foundation frame already installed.
 The Panels will then be aligned using Spirit level & Water level.
 Interconnection of wires or Bus-Bars between panels shall be completed.
 Bus-Bars will be tightened with suitable Torque Wrench.
 Insulation tests will be carried out as well as all pre-commissioning testing (see
attached forms)
 Inspection of the installation and punch list.
 As-Built mark-up drawings certified by Contractor/Engineer.
7.0 ORGANIZATION OF MANPOWER

8.0 HEALTH AND SAFETY


A. Gemmo will follow the instruction of : Plan of Precaution for the Hygiene and
Physical safety of worker on the site Doc

B. Tool Box Meeting : Will be held daily before Job Starting.

E. Use of P.P.E.

 All the workers shall be provided with safety equipments to all workers ensure that the
same worker using them in a properly way.
 Our staff has the responsibility to check workmen wearing proper PPE at site daily.
 If same worker will be found not wearing proper PPE, the supervisor will stop him and
provide for those immediately.
 The item issued to the worker must be periodically inspected and changed in case that
they are found damaged or they do not meet the specified conditions.
 Personal Protection Equipment

1. Earing protection, Ear Muff or Plugs.


2. Helmet, Hard-Hat.
3. Hand Gloves (Leather or Cotton)
4. Dust Mask respiratory protection.
5. Glasses splinter proof.
6. Safety Shoes.
7. Summer / winter Clothing.
8. Equipment and Clothing for body protection.

Items of personal use shall be inspected regularly and maintained in serviceable and sanitary
condition and before reissuing to another person or returned to storage shall be cleaned,
disinfected, inspected, and repaired. Emplyees shall wear clothing suitable for weather and
work conditions.
