Terminal Requirement

1. Laptop will be used as terminal on each side (AP and Station) for
configuration and testing.
Laptop for terminal should support a minimum requirement as below:
- Ethernet 1000 Base-t
- Vlan
- Iperf application installed

4
Attach Twist-on Antenna

Choose the antenna you'd like to use and insert the threaded port of the dish into the twist-on adapter
port of the C5x. Twist the antenna until the Mimosa "M" is oriented in the correct direction and the
black line on your dish is lined up with the screw on the C5x radio. Tighten the screw in to lock the dish
into position.

Installation

Mount the radio

• Attach the C5x to the desired pole location using the included pole clamp

7
Attach to Earth Ground

a) Attach a 6 mm2 (10 AWG) ground wire (not included) between the C5x and a suitable grounding location. The provided ground screw is M4 x
4mm with 0.7 thread.
b) Install the Mimosa Gigabit NID at the entry point for Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protection.

8
Connect Ethernet

• Prepare the shielded CAT6 Cabling (0.2mm2 / 24 AWG conductors or larger) (not
included), and apply a bead of dielectric silicone to Ethernet pins.
• Remove the front cover from the radio, connect the Ethernet cable, and then
replace the cover.

9
RADIO SETUP
Setup the First Radio (Access Point)
• Connect the PoE to the Radio.
• Prepare your computer for use.
• Connect an Ethernet cable between your computer and the PoE port labeled DATA.
• Ensure that your computer's IP address is different from that of the radio (192.168.1.20), but in the same
network. The subnet mask should be the same for both devices (255.255.255.0). Consult operating system
documentation for instructions about how to change your computer's IP address.
• Access the radio in a browser.
• Open a browser and enter ” https://192.168.1.20 “ in the address bar.
• Enter a password that will be used to administer the device. (Ar9#86Y2)
• Assign a friendly radio name.
• Navigate to Preferences > General > Device Friendly Name to enter a meaningful radio name.
• Configure the radio’s IP address.
• Navigate to Preferences > Management > Management IP to ensure the settings match your existing network
configuration.
• After changing the radio's IP address adjust your computer's IP address to operate on the same network.
RADIO SETUP: Access Point
• Set the link details.
• Navigate to Wireless > Link > TDMA Configuration to validate that the Wireless mode is set to Access Point and TDMA
Configuration to Auto
• Continue to the Link Configuration panel to set a ”Link Friendly Name”.
• Enter an SSID that for the link between the two radios.
• Enter an Encryption Key (Passphrase) for the link between the two radios.
• Choose operating frequencies.
• Navigate to Wireless > Channel & Power > Channel & Power Settings.
• Choose a desired Channel Width  select 20 Mhz
• Choose a desired Center Frequency  select the cleanest spectrum
• Set Tx Power to desired level.
• Input location
• Navigate to Wireless > Location
• Local Coordinates ( Enter the latitude and longitude of the local radio in signed decimal degrees with four digits after
the decimal point (e.g. ##.####)).
• Remote Coordinates (Enter the latitude and longitude of the remote radio in signed decimal degrees with four digits
after the decimal point (e.g. ##.####))
• Distance ( The calculated distance between radios based on the local and remote coordinates).
11
RADIO SETUP: Station
Setup the Second Radio (Station)
• Connect the PoE to the radio.
• Prepare your computer for use.
• Access the radio in a browser.
• Assign radio name and a new password if required
• Configure the radio’s IP address.
• This IP address should be different from the Access Point radio.
• Set the link details.
• Navigate to Wireless > Link > TDMA Configuration and change the Wireless Mode to Station (device will reboot).
• All of the Station's other TDMA Configuration settings will be inherited from the Access Point.
• Continue to the Link Configuration panel and enter the same SSID and encryption key that were entered on the
Access Point radio or click on Scan for SSIDs Button, new window pop-up and click on scan, select the appropriate
SSID and save
• The device will reboot upon saving changes.
• The radios should then associate. If configured properly, the Dashboard will show a Wireless Status of Connected.

Alignment

Antenna Aiming Mode

Once associated, click the Aiming Mode button on the

Dashboard to open a new window that refreshes once per
second for a 5-minute period. The Aim Heading indicates the
direction in which the front of the device should be pointed
based exchange of coordinates. The green arrow and blue
shaded region on the dial indicator represent current and target
signal levels, respectively. Note that the dial indicator does not
represent azimuth. Azimuth may need to be adjusted in either
direction to meet the target.

13
Aiming

Aiming view for pointing team can be conducted use Direct connect to POE to access Web
Configuration page
1. Direct connect laptop to POE Data. Configure Laptop with IP address same subnet with
Radio ( example 192.168.1.5)
2. Open Chrome browser and enter https://192.168.1.20
3. Ibridge login window will open:
4. Enter the password : Ar9#86Y2
5. Click on Aiming and start the pointing to reach the target power level.

14
LINK CAPACITY TEST

Link capacity test done by Iperf

Prerequisite : Iperf application installed on both Laptops (AP side and Station side)
Step 1: Laptop at AP side as a client and Laptop at Station as Source
1. Open Iperf on AP and Station Laptop.
2. On Station Laptop run iperf commad: iperf –s –u –i1
3. On AP side run iperf command:
a. iperf –c <IP station laptop> -b 300M –t 300 –i1
b. Screenshoot the iperf result (called Max TP = A).
c. Do manual calculation B = 90%*A.
d. Open new command Prompt and run simultaneously with Iperf (Latency with Load):
• Run iperf –c <IP station laptop> -b <B>M –t 300 –i1
• Ping <IP station laptop> -t –n 300
e. Screenshot the iperf and ping test result
4. Run ping test for Latency without load : Ping <IP station laptop> -t –n 300 and screenshot the ping
test result 15
LINK CAPACITY TEST

Step 2: Laptop at AP side as a Source and Laptop at Station as Client

1. Open Iperf on AP and Station Laptop.
2. On AP Laptop run iperf commad: iperf –s –u –i1
3. On Station side run iperf command:
a. iperf –c <IP AP laptop> -b 300M –t 300 –i1
b. Screenshoot the iperf result (called Max TP = A).
c. Do manual calculation B = 90%*A.
d. Open new command Prompt and run simultaneously with Iperf (Latency with Load):
• Run iperf –c <IP AP laptop> -b <B>M –t 300 –i1
• Ping <IP AP laptop> -t –n 300
e. Screenshot the iperf and ping test result
4. Run ping test for Latency without load : Ping <IP AP laptop> -t –n 300 and screenshot the ping test
result

Link Capacity Calculation

Link Capacity calculation for Gender Traffic Split : 50/50 Link Capacity calculation for Gender Traffic Split : Auto
Link capacity = DL Test result + UL Test result
Link capacity = DL Test Result
= 139 + 136.5 = 276 Mbps
= 275.5 Mbps

Same way to calculate link capacity for traffic gender

75/25 both result must sum-up
