    VI. RATIONALE :
    Meaningful learning involves the development of the holistic attributes of an individual.
    Inspired by the success of last year's Clash of Strands, the department is presenting this year's clash
    with a theme from the novel, Divergent. Furthermore, the department has seen the event as an avenue
    to unify and strengthen bonds among the students and teachers. Thus, making it an annual event for
    the department.

    VII. OBJECTIVES :
    General : 1. To showcase skills, talents and abilities of the students through friendly
    competitions

    2. To exhibit best outputs of students in their respective strands

    Specific: To develop the skills and talents of students, and the spirit of camaraderie and
    sportsmanship, and unify them through friendly competitions
    VIII. METHODOLOGY :
    The celebration will highlight unity in diversity. The two-day event will be spearheaded by
    the Office of the Senior High School Principal through the Strand Festival Committee. To foster
    student participation, the faculty of the department will facilitate all the events of the competition.
    The affair will begin with an opening program, presentation of faction icons and exhibit of
    strand outputs on the morning of the first day. The literary events will also commence with contests
    such as quiz bowl, spelling bee, extemporaneous speaking and spoken poetry.
    The second day will be capped by the different team-building activities and millennial events
    such as wannabe, Christmas dance craze, Parol-making contest, lip swak and Christmas jingle. The
    awarding of winners will happen after the cultural events.
