COURSE DESCRIPTION AND COURSE INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES

This course is the continuation of CSC 145 that provides students with the opportunity to develop in-
depth knowledge of software design and implementation. The course covers the second part of the main
topics of software management including requirements specification, project planning, project analysis
project design, project integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communications, and risk
management. In addition, techniques and methods used in software management will be covered. The
project will be done through team effort, and may involve the use of multiple programming languages.
Emphasis will be on professional communication, team work, and comprehensive utilization of
computing knowledge obtained in previous courses. All these are achieved through excellent instruction,
relevant and responsive research and quality-assured production (4.2.1.1) of a true NOrSUnian with the
core values of SAPPHIRE needed to (4.3.1.1) become dynamic, competitive and globally responsive.
(4.1.1.1)

At the end of the course, the learners are to:

1. Analyze computing requirements appropriate to its solution.

2. Synthesize a computer-based system, process, component, or program to meet desired needs.
3. Analyze of best practices and standards and their application
4. Articulate current techniques, skills, and tools necessary for computing practice.
5. Imitate current technical concepts and practices in the core information technologies.
6. Manipulate software solutions into the user environment.
7. Internalize effectively on teams to accomplish a common goal.
8. Respond effectively with a range of audiences.
