Introduction

Microsoft Word: Microsoft Word is a word processor developed by Microsoft. It


was first released on October 25, 1983, under the name Multi-Tool Word for xenix
systems.
Microsoft Excel: Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet developed by Microsoft for
Windows, mac OS, Android and I OS. It features calculation, graphing tools, pivot
tables, and a macro programming language called Visual Basic for Applications.
Microsoft power point: Microsoft PowerPoint empowers you to create clean slide
presentations and intricate pitch decks and gives you a powerful presentation
maker to tell your story.
Image processing: Image processing is a method to perform some operations on
an image, in order to get an enhanced image or to extract some useful
information from it.
Microsoft Word
1. Microsoft Word:
Microsoft Word or MS Word (often called word) is a graphical word
processing program that user can type with. It is made by the computer company
Microsoft. Its purpose is to allow users to type and save documents.
 Features of word processor:
-creating, editing, saving and printing documents.
-copying, pasting, moving and deleting text with a document.
-formatting text, such as font type, building, underlining or italicizing.
-creating and editing tables.
 Uses of word processor:
-to create resumes/bio-data.
-advertisements.
-WWW pages.
-articles.

1.1 Paragraph formatting:


Paragraph formatting refers to formatting commands that affect entire
paragraphs setting such as indenting, bullet, line spacing and paragraph spacing.
Step:
1. Select the paragraphs, or position the insertion point in the paragraph, you want to align.
2. On the Format menu, click Paragraph. Paragraph dialog box displays.
3. Click the Indents and Spacing tab.
4. In the Alignment box, select the type of alignment you want.
5. Click OK.
1.2 Font Formatting:
A font is a collection of alphanumeric characters that share the same
typeface, or design, and have similar characteristics likewise, formatting refers to the
appearance or presentation of your essay.
Step:
1. Press Ctrl+H to open the Find and Replace dialog box.
2. In the Find what box, type the word or phrase that you want to format.
3. In the Replace with box, type ^&.
4. Click more, click Format, and then click Font.
5. In the dialog box that opens, in the Font Style drop-down list, select Bold, and click OK
Notice that a description of the formatting that you configured appears below the Replace
with box.
6. Click Replace all, or click Find Next and then click replace, where applicable.
7. Before you perform your next find and replace task, with your cursor in the Replace with
box, click more if necessary, click No Formatting to clear the formatting that you configured,
and then click less.
1.3 Track changes:
The Track Changes function in Word allows you to keep a record of
amendments made to a document. You can then choose to accept or reject the amendments. It
is a useful tool for managing changes made by several reviewers to the same document.

1.4 Inserting pictures:


Inserting Picture inserts an image file into the current document.

Steps:
1. Place your insertion point where you want the image to appear.
2. Select the Insert tab.
3. Click the Picture command in the Illustrations group. The Insert Picture dialog box appears.
4. Select the desired image file, then click Insert to add it to your document. Selecting an image
file.

1.5 Header and Footer:


A header is the top margin of each page, and a footer is the bottom
margin of each page. Headers and footers are useful for including material that you want to
appear on every page of a document such as your name, the title of the document, or page
numbers.
Steps:
1. Go to Insert > Header or Footer.
2. Choose the header style you want to use.
3. Add or change text for the header or footer. For more info on things you can do with
headers.
4. Select Close Header and Footer or press Esc to exit.
Microsoft Excel
2. Microsoft Excel:
A software program created by Microsoft that uses spreadsheets to organize
numbers and data with formulas and functions. Excel analysis is ubiquitous around the
world and used by businesses of all sizes to perform financial analysis.

Features of Microsoft Excel:


-conditional formatting.
-pivot tables.
-paste special.
-add multiple rows.

Application of Microsoft Excel:


-Collection and Verification of Business Data.
-Accounting and budgeting.
-Reporting + Visualizations.
-Forecasting.

2.1 Cell Formatting


Cell formats allow you to only change the way cell data appears in the
spreadsheet. It is important to keep in mind that it only alters the way the data is
presented, and does not change the value of the data.
Steps:

1. Select the cells you want to modify. Selecting a cell range.


2. Click the drop-down arrow next to the Number Format command on the Home tab. The
Number Formatting drop-down menu will appear.
3. Select the desired formatting option.
4. The selected cells will change to the new formatting style.
2.2 Cell Alignment
The proper positioning or state of adjustment of parts (as of a
mechanical or electronic device) in relation to each other.
Steps:

1. Select a cell or cell range to be subject to text control alignment.

2. Choose Format > Cells from the menu bar.

3. The Format Cells dialog box opens.

4. Click the Alignment tab.

5. Increase or decrease the number shown in the Degrees field or spin box.

6. Click OK.

2.3 Insert chart


An embedded chart is a chart object that can be inserted into a worksheet. A
chart sheet is a chart that is a sheet of its own. To insert an embedded chart, use the Insert
option in the spreadsheet program you have available to you.
Steps:
1. Select data for the chart.
2. Select Insert > Recommended Charts.
3. Select a chart on the Recommended Charts tab, to preview the chart. Note: You can select
the data you want in the chart and press ALT + F1 to create a chart immediately, but it might
not be the best chart for the data.
4. Select a chart.
5. Select OK.
Microsoft Power Point
3. Microsoft Power Point:
PowerPoint is a presentation program developed by Microsoft. It
is included in the standard Office suite along with Microsoft Word and Excel. The
software allows users to create anything from basic slide shows to complex
presentations.

Features of Microsoft power point


-Clip Art.
-Graphs.
-Tables.
-Photographs.
-Charts.
-Media Clips.
-Videos.

Application of power point:


-Custom animation.
-Add photos, videos and sound effects.
-Save as a webpage.
-Print presentations as handouts.
-Embed YouTube videos.

3.1 To insert new slides:


On the Home tab, click New Slide. In the New Slide dialog box, select the
layout that you want for your new slide. Learn more about slide layouts. Select Add Slide. Your
new slide is inserted, and you can click inside a placeholder to begin adding content.
Steps
1. In the slide thumbnail pane on the left, click the slide that you want your new slide to
follow.
2. On the Home tab, click New Slide.
3. In the New Slide dialog box, select the layout that you want for your new slide. Learn
more about slide layouts.
4. Select Add Slide.
Image Processing
4. Image Processing:
The analysis and manipulation of a digitized image, especially in order
to improve its quality.
Features of image processing
-Save to cloud.
-Intelligent up sampling.
-Layers panel.
-Multi-shape and path selection.
4.1 Working with layers
Working in layers is a system for creating artistic paintings that involve the
use of more than one layer of paint.
