    INSTRUCTIONS

    Instead of a traditional paper written according to a template about two artists,


    You will be mindful to make regular entries in the Discussions of artist we cover in the
    Video Highlights posted for discussion. So, you will do this little by little over the time
    left. This makes viewing, comprehending and commenting on all the Video Highlights.
    required and essential to getting a good grade for writing.
    When talking about Art, always talk about these three things:
    Form: What it looks like i.e., scale, color, value, texture, line, shape, and the principles
    of balance, focal point, repetition and rhythm, pattern
    Content… the implied meaning as well as subject matter, or how you perceive the
    meaning of the work from watching three videos
    Content: whatever information you glean about the artists life, cultural or social context
    So, this is not a research paper. I am looking for you to apply what you are learning to
    discuss these artists.
    Make sure to identify and discuss at least one specific example of each artist's work.
    You start immediately and make at least one entry per artist (1 a week)
    I will apply the normal rubric to your grade, that is completing the posts for each artist
    and discussing those three points: form, content and context.
    I will assess your grade at the end of classes.
    Many of you have already been doing this.
