Dear abanya Kigezi and friends:

You are cordially invited to the 9 th Annual ICOB Convention, which will be held from July 28-31, 2011 at the Croydon Park Hotel
in London, United Kingdom. Our theme this year is ‘Guharanira Kunoza’ (In Pursuit of Excellence), with a focus on Education
and Culture. Pursuing excellence is a matter of recognizing who you are, what you have, where you are in life,
and striving to improve upon it. There is no end zone in seeking excellence; there is always more to achieve.
There will be expert, panel and open forum discussions to address topics of educational and cultural interests to the
community.

The tentative Convention Program is as follows:


Thursday July 28th Delegates arrive and check into hotel/Registration

Friday July 29th


7 - 9AM Registration continues (simultaneously with Breakfast included in room rates)
9 -10:30 AM Opening Ceremonies including Keynote speech
10:30 - 10:45 AM Coffee Break
10:45 - 11:15 AM Presentation/Speaker on Education
11:15 - AM 12: 45 PM Panel/Open Forum on Education.
12:45 - 1:45 PM Lunch (Provided)
2:00 PM - 2:15 Presentation/Speaker on Culture
2:15 PM - 3:45 PM Panel/Open Forum on Culture/Ekiganiiro
3:45 PM Tea/Coffee Break
4- PM - 5: 15 PM Break out into smaller groups to further discuss/brainstorm the
Education/Culture
5:15 Day Activities End.

No formal evening activities planned at present. It is anticipated that networking and discussions on the day’s activities will
continue informally. Dinner (on own).

Saturday July 30th


9:30 - 10:45 AM Resolutions from working groups presented/discussed re Education and Culture
10:45AM Tea/Coffee Break
11: AM - 12:30 PM ICOB Business (AGM, Elections, Financial Statement) and Resolutions voted on
12:30 PM - 1:30 PM Lunch (Provided)
6:00 PM Dinner banquet, Kigezi Education Fund drive, cultural and pop entertainment, dance

Sunday July 31st


10:00 AM-11:00 AM Ecumenical worship service
2:00 PM London Tour ending in a steak/eat out in the Park or Ugandan Restaurant- Separate registration/fee.

Sunday activities are considered very tentative and optional at present as this could be a day for people to catch on with friends,
relations and/or do some shopping/resting

Convention Registration Fees are as follows:

Early Adult registration up to June 15, 2011: £ 120 -Can be paid in two installments
*Late Adult (After June 15 & Onsite) registration: £ 150
Students 18- 24 years (with proof): £ 60
Youth 12 -18 years: £45
Children (below 11 years): Free!

Convention Accommodation is as follows:

Central London

Single Occupancy @ £75.00


Double Occupancy @ £85.00
These are both large double rooms.

Family Room charges are as follows:


2 Adults & 1 Child @ £100.00
2 Adults & 2 Children @ £110.00

Upgrades for bedrooms are:


Deluxe Room @ £10.00 extra per room (includes bathrobe, slippers and free wifi)
Executive Room @ £20.00 extra per room (includes bathrobe, slippers, free wifi, DVD and is located on the executive refurbished floor)
Club Room @ £45.00 extra per room (Suite with Sofa, bigger size- includes bathrobe, slippers, free wifi, DVD and is located on the executive
refurbished floor)

*ALL Room Rates include Accommodation, Full English breakfast, use of the Gym and VAT.

These rates will also be extended to delegates arriving three days before or leaving three days after the convention, but only if
requested under the ICOB group.
