Literature Review

Exercise is not as beneficial for weight loss. Exercise can be helpful, but your nutrition

is a key factor as well and the question I am trying to answer is what the most beneficial way

for weight loss is. However, it will hard find more credible sources of this topic. The history of

this topic goes back to when obesity was a very problematic situation for Americans. It had

started when all age limits were eating higher portioned meals as well as plenty of fast-food

restaurants began to become popular in the 1920’s.

Researchers and studies have explored and searched for facts on weight gain and weight

loss. After researching all the sources, I found out that exercise is not effective for fast results in

weight loss there are more factors that go into it. For example, nutrition is a key factor as well as

everybody's human body is different. Having a fast or slow metabolism can 'affect weight loss.

Some misinterpretations that can be caused in this essay is unreliable sources and non- credible

sources.

There are also medical conditions that determine that losing weight can be harder and certain

people dealing with these issues for example, Insomnia, Menopause, Cushing's Disease,

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. And Congestive Heart Failure. These all lead to the cause of
excessive weigh gain and it can be difficult for them to lose weight but, with certain medications

and a strict diet even with these medical conditions losing weight can still be possible.

Mental health can be a factor in which it is difficult to lose weight even with strict diet and

exercise. Depression, stress, and anxiety can make it hard to lose weight. With depression it is

easy to binge it to cope with feelings. Stress can lead to excessive eating for beneficial comfort

as well as anxiety. However, there are different ways to cope with these mental health issues to

achieve healthy eating and exercise.

The purpose of the research topic I have chosen is that I have been struggling with

weight loss and weight gain for some time now and I would like to be more educated on the

topic to help people slowly progress and see results. I was struggling with constantly working

out for hours and never watching what I ate so I never saw progress. Questions to research are

what medical conditions may cause for exercise not being a form of weight loss and what

genetics can contribute for it. As well as is the amount of exercise is needed to see progress on

weight loss and is the average person getting enough exercise. Research shows that only 23%

of people getting the necessary exercise needed for an average human being.

This is also book talking about weight loss and how we evolved to move when necessary.

Exercised tells the story of how we evolved to move when it is necessary and rewarding but

otherwise rest and never exercise - that is do physical activity for the sake of health and

fitness.so, with CRAPP it is not creditable source because nothing was researched nor creditable.
