RATIONALE
The 2021 National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC) serves as a tribute, a platform, and
a call to action that highlights the extraordinary roles of ordinary Juanas in the society as trailblazers
and harbingers of change. This celebration is also a venue to discuss and address the issues that
women continue to face so empowerment can be fully achieved. The campaign is also a call for
concrete, sustainable, and inclusive actions towards gender equality.

Thus, the Office of the City Vice Mayor and the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Masbate ensures that their
programs and activities for the NWMC contribute in achieving these objectives and the focus of the 2021
celebration by conducting a one-day activity dubbed as, “Laban ni Juana ngayong pandemya: aFAIR
for Her!” to recognize the contributions of women in nation-building specifically women roles in the fight
against COVID-19.
As part of the Kick Off ceremony of this year’s Women’s Month on March 8, 2021, “Lakat ni Manoy para
kan Manay: A Walk with heels for Women’s Heroism (Version 3.0)” will formally mark the kick-off
ceremony as on opening Salvo, now on its third year, from the City Hall Ground to Capitol Road
Development Road, specifically in front of the Provincial Engineering Office, where invited men employees
of the City Government will wear heels while walking which aims to show respect to women; and let men
ni Manoy para kan Manay will be made right after the motorcade and during the Monday Convocation.
aFAIR for her! is a combination of the following activities, in cooperation with the City Social
Welfare & Development Office (CSWDO), City Health Office, City Agriculturist Office, Philippine Red Cross-
Masbate Chapter, Provincial Health Office and other national agencies partners, rolled in one-day:
1. Blood donation dubbed as “Dugo ko Para Kay Juana”, a blood letting activity.
2. Blood Typing dubbed as “Dugo Mo, Aramon Mo!”, a blood typing activity.
3. Display of pots, plant and other things related to gardening for sale dubbed as,
“All about Plants” Trade Fair”.
inspirational messages involving women where entries will be submitted online. There will be 3 winners, to
wit: 3rd Place, 2nd Place and the Champion. The winner in turn will have its live and on stage performance
on the 24th of March 2021. Nonetheless, the Office of the City Vice Mayor, in partnership with the Office
of the Sangguniang Panlungsod shall provide a copy of spoken poetry to be recited during Monday
convocation.
6. Recognition of Outstanding Frontliners amidst COVID 19, dubbed as, Pagbida
kay Juana is a combination of a documentaries and awarding of the following, who greatly contributed in
the fight against COVID19:
“Bida Si Kap sa Panahon ng Korona” will serve as a venue to recognize our local women brgy leaders
who greatly help to combat COVID19 in the City.
PARTICIPANTS
The activity will be participated by the officials and employees of the City Government of
Masbate, plant & pot sellers; poetry performers, and blood donors.
It is a one-day activity which will be held at the City hall Ground, City Hall Compound, City of
Masbate on March 25, 2021.
BUDGETARY REQUIREMENTS
Financial requirements of the activity shall be charged against the training expenses of the Office
