    GREEN SCHOOLS AT HOME

    WEEK
    Instructions
    There are lots of activities on the
    following pages. Each activity you
    complete, take a picture and upload
    it to the padlet on the Green Schools
    section of the St. Philomena’s N.S.
    website. For each activity you
    upload, you get a raffle ticket and
    you will be entered into a raffle with a
    chance to win great prizes!

    Please remember to maintain social


    distancing and stay within your 5km
    radius. If you are going for walks,
    using supplies at home, etc. make
    sure to ask for permission first.

    ◦ Nature walk checklist: Go for a walk and tick off whatever things you see from the checklist. Take
    pictures and upload them!
    ◦ Nature Diary
    Write into a copy or on a sheet, or download the diary (File C)
    Here are some written activities you can do:

    Poetry – Write a poem about Biodiversity. Some topics you might choose include animals, trees, flowers,
    etc.

    Story – Write a story where the main character goes on a nature adventure!

    Cartoon strip – Create a cartoon strip based on a superhero who protects the environment!
    Try a Gaeilge activity
    Research the Irish names of some common trees.
    Create a poster with drawings of the trees with the English and Irish names.
