preferred.

(The number of posts indicated could change depending on the requirement.)

NOTE:

For Category I

i) Those candidates who have passed M.Sc./Degree in Engg./AMIE/equivalent or appearing


for M.Sc./Degree in Engg./AMIE/equivalent (final year) will not be considered, and
hence need not apply.

ii) Candidates with minimum 60% marks in B.Sc. with Physics, Chemistry and Maths as
subjects with equal weightage will also be considered. However, they should clearly
indicate the subject of their choice (Chemistry or Physics) in their application forms.

iii) Mathematics at HSC (10 + 2) level is essential.

For Category II

Those candidates who have passed B.Sc/Diploma in Engg./AMIE/Degree in Engg./equivalent or


appearing for B.Sc./Diploma in Engg./AMIE/Degree in Engg./equivalent (final year) will not be
considered, and hence need not apply.

AGE LIMIT : Minimum 19 years and maximum 24 years (as on 01/05/2006) for Category I,
and minimum 18 yrs. and maximum 22 Yrs. (as on 01/05/2006) for Category II. Relaxation of
five years in age is admissible to ST and three years to OBC candidates.

Reservation for disabled persons will be provided as per rules in specific disciplines/trades.

Physical Standards: Minimum Height : 160 cms. Minimum weight : 45.5 Kgs
(Relaxable if the candidate is otherwise medically fit.)

Total Duration of Training Period: One year for Category I, and two years for Category II.

Stipend During Training: Rs. 6500/- p.m. for Category I, and Rs. 4000/- p.m for 1styear and
Rs.5000/- p.m for 2nd year for Category II.

Selection: A written test of one-hour duration will be conducted. Successful candidates will be
interviewed on the following day. Option to answer either in English or Hindi will be given at
written test and interview. Final selection will be on the basis of performance in interview.
Candidates should come prepared to stay in Mumbai for 2 days for the Written Test/Interview.

Scope of Training: Selected candidates will be given training at


Mumbai/Tarapur/Kalpakkam/Mysore in various aspects of relevant trades, as per prescribed
syllabi of each trade and for meeting stringent requirements of BARC.

Grade After Successful Completion of Training:


Upon successful completion of training, the trainees will be considered for absorption in one of
the following grades depending on their performance during the period of training and interview
to be held at the end of the training. Based on the performance during training additional
increments may be given on appointment.

Plus allowances such as DA, HRA & CCA as admissible under Central Government Rules.

Bond: Selected candidates will have to execute a bond to complete the training and serve BARC
or any of the constituent Units of DAE, if offered appointment after the training, for a period of 4
years after absorption. A trainee who fails to Complete the training or serve the Government for
4 years if offered appointment will be liable to pay to the Government a sum equivalent to entire
aggregate amount of stipend received by him during the period of training along with interest
thereon.

B) Applications are invited for the following posts in BARC through direct
recruitment, i.e., without training.

Qualification & : SSC or equivalent. Sub Officers course conducted by National


experience Fire Service College. 5 years experience as Leading Fireman or
8 years experience as Fireman/Driver-cum-Operator in a
recognized Civil/Industrial Fire Service Station after passing
the Sub-Officer’s Course is essential. Persons having valid
Heavy Vehicle driving licence will be given preference.

PHYSICAL STANDARDS

Height : 165 Cms. (minimum)
Weight : 50 Kg. (minimum)
Chest : 81 Cms (normal) & 86 Cms. (Expansion)
Vision : 6/6 without wearing glasses or any other aid.
Night or colour blindness shall be a disqualification.

AGE LIMIT : 18 years minimum & 43 years maximum as on


01/05/2006, which includes 3 years age concession for OBC
candidates. Relaxation in upper age limit will be allowed in the
case of candidates with longer experience and outstanding
merit.

Competent Authority plus 2 years experience in Radiography

Name of the post : TRADESMAN/B (ECG Technician) for BARC, Mumbai.

not less than 1 year duration recognised by the Competent
Authority in the trade of ECG technician.

Those candidates who have passed B.Sc./Diploma in Engg./AMIE/Degree in


Engg./equivalent or appearing for B.Sc./Diploma in Engg./AMIE/Degree in
Engg./equivalent (final year) will not be considered for appointment and hence need not

RELAXATION IN UPPER AGE LIMIT

FOR DEPARTMENTAL CANDIDATES WITH 3 YEARS CONTINUOUS SERVICE IN THE


SAME LINE OR ALLIED CADRE APPLYING FOR THE POST OF TRADESMAN/B &
TRADESMAN/C UPPER AGE LIMIT WILL BE 40 YEARS.

RELAXATION IN THE UPPER AGE LIMIT OF 5 YEARS SHALL BE ADMISSIBLE TO


ALL PERSONS WHO HAD ORDINARILY BEEN DOMICILED IN KASHMIR DIVISION
OF THE STATE OF JAMMU & KASHMIR DURING THE PERIOD FROM THE 1ST DAY OF
JANUARY, 1980 TO 31ST DAY OF DECEMBER, 1989 PROVIDED THAT THE
RELAXATION IN THE UPPER AGE LIMIT FOR APPEARING AT ANY EXAMINATION
SHALL BE SUBJECT TO THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF CHANCES PERMISSIBLE
UNDER THE RELEVANT RULES.

DOMICILED IN THE KASHMIR DIVISION OF THE STATE OF JAMMU & KASHMIR
DURING THE PERIOD FROM THE 1st DAY OF JANUARY, 1980 TO THE 31ST DAY OF
DECEMBER, 1989.

UPPER AGE LIMIT INDICATED WILL BE RELAXED BY 5 YEARS FOR ST AND 3


YEARS FOR OBC WHEREVER RESERVED POSTS ARE AVAILABLE TO ST/OBC.

NOTE : The nature of duties to be performed by the above categories involve working in round
the clock shift duties, in operational plants and areas. Candidates selected against this
advertisement are likely to be posted at Mumbai/Tarapur/Kalpakkam/Mysore but are liable to
serve in any part of India and in any constituent units of the Department of Atomic Energy.

Travelling Allowance: SC/ST candidates called for interview which will be held in Mumbai will
be paid Travelling Allowance as per rules. However, Travelling Allowance is not admissible to
those SC/ST candidates who are already in Central/State Government services, Central/State
Government Corporation, Public Undertakings, Local Government Institutions and Panchayats.

4. Candidate must fill the application form in CAPITAL LETTERS in his/her own
handwriting in English or Hindi and should use as far as possible only international form
of Indian numerals.

5. PHOTOGRAPH : A recent passport size photograph should be affixed on the right


hand top corner of the application. One additional copy of the passport size photograph
should also be sent along with the application.

6. ENVELOPE : A self addressed unstamped envelope (size 11 x 20 cm.) should be


attached to the application.

a) Educational qualifications/experience and technical qualifications (supported by


appropriate mark sheets indicating the subjects offered at the examinations).

d) Non-creamy Layer Certificate in the case of OBC candidate.

NOTE :

i) Persons working under the Central/State Govt./Public Sector Undertakings


should submit their applications through proper channel. They may, however,
send one advance copy of the application along with enclosures as detailed above
to the address as mentioned in para 7.

ii) Candidates who will be appointed against this advertisement will be governed by
the New Contributory Pension Scheme which has come into effect from
01/01/2004.

9. WARNING : Applications which are not in conformity with the requirements


indicated, filled in languages other than English or Hindi and which are not in the
prescribed form size in foolscap paper (size: 34 cms X 22 cms) or are not
accompanied by the attested copies of certificates, photograph, self-addressed
unstamped envelope of the prescribed size will be strictly rejected. Mere fulfilling of
requirements as laid down in the advertisement does not qualify a candidate for a
written test/interview. No correspondence will be entertained with candidates not
