In this study the author have studied the internet security from the perspective of trust
and perceived risk. Perceived risk and trust can become one of the parameters to
understand internet security influence on the behavior of the customer. Trust depends
upon the privacy and security factors of an online banking website. The website design
also plays an important role in engendering trust in the minds of the customer. The
authors observed that higher the level of trust, there was lower risk perception and
higher adoption of internet banking in India. The lower risk perception helps the
customer to accept the online banking platform without any hesitations.
In this study the authors have studied the ease of acceptance of e-banking by adult
customers. It is seen that the adult customers are very much reluctant to take risks with
new technologies, so they abstain from using it. The authors have internet security from
the perspective of security & privacy, trust, innovativeness, familiarity, awareness level.
The authors opined that increase in security and privacy, trust and awareness level increases
the adoption of e-banking services. Adults are very much reluctant to change their ways to carry
out certain procedure. Training and awareness will make the adults much acquainted with the
technology, which leads to the easy acceptance of the process. The banking firms should strive
to engender trust into system by partnering with security and privacy service providers so that
the risk of carrying out transaction in the website is reduced. The creative and innovative way
the website is presented to the customer, the security and privacy features added to the website
will help the banking firms to convince the customers to adopt internet banking

The authors in this research have studied the challenges and opportunities of internet
banking in India. As this system of banking is new to the Indian scenario, acceptance of
the same is very difficult. Consumers will be highly reluctant to accept because of fear
of loss of money or data utilization. Having kept these in mind the authors have
conducted this study. Having understood the parameter, the authors have suggested
that the banks act on creating awareness about the services so that people in large
numbers accept the internet banking services. The study has brought out many
challenges and opportunities in banking industry with respect to implementation of the
online banking system. The primary challenges faced is the robust IT infrastructure
which is critical for the effective and efficient processing. Later comes the skill required
to operate the system. The banking professionals have to be trained in such a way that
they are very much acquainted with the system, so that they can cater to the needs of
the customers in a very efficient manner
