Shaina Although ang original na kasunduan ni Yahweh at ng chosen people

of Israel ay ang Decalogue or more commonly known as the 10
Commandments, ay pinili nilang himayin ito or break down into more
detailed “Do’s and Don’ts”.

Siguro, nais lamang ng mga gumawa nito na magkaroon ng

detalyeng gabay ang mga Jews para sa pang araw-araw na buhay

According to some Jewish traditions, the 613 commandments are

composed of 365 negative commandments ( Don’ts) and 248 positive
commandments.

Yun 365 commandments ay tugma sa 365 days of a given year at yun
248 commandments ay para naman sa number of bones and main
organs in the human body.
Ang galing naman, yun Jewish commandments pala ay batas-gabay

Ha? Parang parehas lang yun tanong mo ah.

Syempre 613 is greater than 2.
Tingnan natin ha. Remember that a scholar of the law asked Jesus, in
a test, na sabihin kung alin ang greatest of the 613 Jewish
commandments.
But instead of falling into the evil plot of the Pharisees, Jesus, instead,
has given us the greatest commandment based on Deuteronomy 6:5
Shaina and combined it with Leviticus 19:18.
You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all
your soul, and with all your mind and that You shall love your
neighbor as yourself.
The whole law and the prophets depend on these two

commandments.
Tama si Jesus. There is no need to memorize all 613 commandments

including their step-by-step procedures in order to say that we are

following God’s commandment. We just have to remember to love
God above everything else and to love other as ourself.

But let us keep in mind also that Jesus did not mean to abolish the
Jewish law. Instead, He was challenging them to search their hearts
into what their existing laws are intending to accomplish – to follow
the law externally ( by procedures) or to follow it internally ( by heart ).
That is the difference between the “love of the law” that the religious
Brother leaders wanted to promote and the “Law of Love” that Jesus is
bringing to all of God’s people.

Love must be the ultimate guide and light on our path towards God
and others.
Sabi nga ni St Paul sa 1 Corinthians 13, we can have angelic

tongues, the gift of prophecy, have all the faith needed to move
mountains, give away everything BUT have not love, then all those
gifts and sacrifices meant nothing.
Love is patient.
Love is kind.
Love rejoices with the truth.
Shaina Love bears all things.
Love believes all things.
Love hopes all things.
Love endures all things.
Love never fails.
Love is not jealous.

Love is not arrogant.
Love is not rude.
Love is not quick-tempered.
Love does not seek its own interest.
Love does not brood over injury.
Love does not rejoice over wrongdoing.

God is Love.
Kaya nga His greatest message to each and everyone of us is –
LOVE pa rin.
For God so LOVED the world that He gave His only begotten Son so
that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.

Lord God,
Labis po ang aming pasasalamat sa pagbibigay Mo sa amin kay

Jesus bilang patunay ng iyong unconditional love for us. Turuan mo
po kami na laging sundin ang iyong Law of Love sa aming kapwa lalo
na sa mga aming kaaway na kay hirap mahalin. Nais po naming
gayahin ang pagmamahal mo sa amin despite our weaknesses and
occasions of disobedience sa Iyo.

Ito po ay hinihiling naming sa ngalan ni Hesus na aming
Tagapagligtas.
Amen.
