1.1 Scope
This manual describes the configuration of the Cash Fever™ display
system as of version 1.x.
Statements Caution: Informs you that if care and consideration are not taken then
severe damage to yourself or to material may result.
Warning: Warnings indicate that if you do not take heed then physical
injury or irrecoverable damage to material may result.
This manual deals with the setup and configuration of the Cash Fever™
display system. This includes the hardware and software required to
show the Cash Fever™ video sequences, the odometers and animation
on the display screen.
In the back, the PC has a serial port for connecting to the Commboard
(via the Cash Fever™ converter) and three sockets for connecting to the
display screen (two VGA sockets for the video channel and one for the
audio channel).
The layout of the graphics card and the serial I/O card may vary.
For detailed instructions on how to connect the cables, see 2.2, "Setting
Up and Connecting the Cash Fever™ PC" below.
Screen settings The monitor of the Cash Fever™ PC must have the following screen
settings:
Caution: If you build the Cash Fever™ PC into a case such as the cash
box, make sure to actively ventilate the system (e.g. using a fan) to
prevent the system from overheating. The Cash Fever™ PC
automatically shuts down when the CPU temperature reaches 70° C.
2.2.1 Connections
Follow these steps to connect the Cash Fever™ PC to the Commboard
of the master slot machine and the display screen:
Note: The second 6-pole MT plug is for future use and for a
diagnostic purpose.
These cables are not part of the Cash Fever™ connection kit; they
are delivered with the signage and the display screens.
See 2.1.1, "Cash Fever™ PC" for a picture of the PC's rear panel.
Make sure that you make the required screen settings for the
double-sided display (see below).
These settings ensure that both screens show the same contents.
For further instructions, consult the readme.txt file provided on the CD-
ROM.
If you choose to use your own PC hardware you will have to install the
Cash Fever™ software as described in the following chapters.
• RAM: 1 GB or more
• 1 x Fast-Ethernet adapter
• 1 x DVD-ROM drive
• 1 x USB keyboard
• 1 x USB mouse
Get a free 6-month When prompted for the installation of the "6-month DivX Pro trial" select:
DivX Pro trial!
• No thanks, just give me DivX
Finished On the last screen of the QuickTime™ installation chose not to launch the
readme file and the player:
If the application is not running, you can start it by restarting the PC.
Alternatively, take the following steps:
Never turn off Cash Fever™ by simply turning off the mains supply.
Configuration window The Cash Fever™ Configuration window contains several tabs with
tabs configuration options:
• Meter 1 to Meter 4
• Help Movie
This tab contains settings for the video sequence which explains
how to play Cash Fever™.
• Currency
This tab contains settings for the display of currency symbols and
letters.
• Hit
• Info
Configuration window The Cash Fever™ Configuration window provides the following buttons:
buttons
• About
Click this button to store the current configuration settings; they are
saved in the configuration file.
• Exit
Note: Do not use the Close button [x] in the top right corner to exit the
configuration program. Although this closes the window, the program
remains in the computer's memory and may slow it down.
Delimiter The delimiter setting defines the separators between the digits of the
amounts displayed. Dots or commas are available.
To change the setting, click the arrow to the left or right. The following
delimiter settings are available:
• 1,000.000,00 (default)
• 1,000,000.00
• 1.000.000,00
No. of digits The number of displayed digits defines the size of each odometer.
Example: 7,2 means 7 digits in front of the delimiter (comma or dot,
depending on the setting) and 2 digits after the delimiter.
Help Language The help texts can be displayed in one of the following languages:
• English (default)
• French
• German
• Portuguese
• Russian
Repeat Timeout The repeat timeout (in minutes) determines after which time period the
help movie will be played again. However, the help movie does not
interrupt the Cash Fever™ video sequence when the repeat timeout
period is over. It is started at the earliest possible time after the current
regular Cash Fever™ sequence.
Active If the check mark is crossed [x], the help movie is played repeatedly after
the specified repeat timeout. When Cash Fever™ is being introduced on
a specific site, the help movie should be enabled.
If the check mark is not crossed [ ], the help movie will not be played at
all. You can disable it when Cash Fever™ is already well known on a
specific site.
Default: Active
4.3.3 Currency
The Currency setting defines the currency symbol or currency which is
shown on the four odometers and with the amount displayed when a
jackpot hit occurs.
€, £, $, EUR, … You can use graphic one-digit symbols such as €, £ or $, or the three-
letter codes such as EUR, USD, SIT, etc. in accordance with the country
currency.
To change the setting, click the arrow(s) up or down until you find the
currency symbol or letter you are looking for. The effect is shown
immediately on the screen.
To refresh the display so that the letters are properly aligned when the
odometer is shown, click the right mouse button outside the configuration
window.
Default: EUR
Each jackpot level is assigned to one of the four odometers, from top to
bottom:
Meter 2 …
Meter 3 …
You can configure the hit screen for each jackpot level individually: the
animation and message shown, and the display duration. In addition, you
can set the smallest coin which can be played.
Hit no. This is the hit number which for which you want to configure the display.
Click the arrow up or down to select one of the hit numbers 1 - 4; the
number corresponds to the meters 1 - 4 (this is not the jackpot level, see
above).
Click the arrow up or down to select the type of animation for the current
hit number. There are 4 predefined animations.
Click the arrow up or down to select the text message for the current hit
number.
Pause The value for pause (in seconds) determines for how long a jackpot hit
will be displayed.
Click the arrow up or down to change the value for the current hit
number. Usually, the pause value will be higher for a higher jackpot level
(top level) than for a lower jackpot level (bottom level).
Denom. The denomination value corresponds to the lowest coin unit or currency
unit which can be played on the corresponding slot machines. In addition,
the denomination determines the rounding factor for the jackpot value
displayed.
4.3.5 Info

information.

changed to the Info tab.
