RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

The chapter presents the research design, the respondents, sampling design, research instruments,

validity and reliability, data gathering procedure, ethical consideration and statistical treatment.

Research Design

This study will support a quantitative research type in gathering data of the students of School of Allied

Medicine. Universidad De Zamboanga, Zamboanga City.

Quantitative research is a method that relies on measuring variables using numerical system,

analyzing. These measurements using any of a variety of statistical models and reporting relationships

and associations among the studied variables. (Alfieri, 2015)

Research Locale

This study will conduct at the School of Allied Medicine of Universidad de Zamboanga. A private

University in Zamboanga City. The School of Allied Medicine is one of the top performing school in the

locality that has been producing Top Notchers in the Board examination. It offers Bachelor of Sciend in

Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, Bachelor of

Science in Respiratory Therapy and Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology.

Population and Sampling Design

This research will be applying Random Sampling to let each members or students, particularly students

of Respiratory Therapy Department to have an equal chance of being selected as our subject. As criteria

of our sampling, we will choose an equal number of gender as a basis. The entire process of sampling is

done in a single step with each subject selected independently of the other members of the population.

Research Instrument

Validity and Reliability

To ensure the validity and reliability of the instrument used, the questionnaire will be pass by the

panel of experts before it will distribute to the respondents. Pretest and post test will also conduct to

endure reliability.

Ethical Consideration

The research will adhere the basic ethical principles in research during the conduct of the study since

human subjects were included as a respondent. The researchers assured utmost confidentially in

handling all information of the subjects. No physical nor psychological harm will be inflicted to the

respondents. The assumption of keeping and identify and findings of the study under the condition of

anonymity will be properly observe.

Data Gathering Procedure

The gathering of data will start from the time the approval of the study. The researchers will use

frequency distribution, tabulate the result and the process data statistical tools, preparation, analysis

and interpretation of data will be follow.

Statistical Treatment

The data will be tabulate, analyze, compute statistically using the following tools:

To determine the demographic profile of the respondents’ frequency, count and percentage

distribution.

To determine the internet knowledge of the respondents weighted mean will be use.
