This document summarizes a restoration architecture and masonry project. It describes a wooden building supported by concrete columns and a roof truss that was designed to withstand the tropical climate. The roof truss is an exact replica of the original built using green hardwood without nails or screws. Limestone was gathered from a demolished hill and used in the building, mixed with water and yellow ochre pigment and applied annually due to its easy removal compared to concrete.

Restoration architecture, Masonry project
Name: Joel Blenman
Date: 11/4/2019 School: Antigua State College Teachers name: Mr. Williams Class: TECHSTDS1 Grade: Joiners loft The building in this picture was made from wood and shingles. The concrete columns combined with the roof truss act as support of the loft. This building was not made on a foundation due to the architecture (wood works under the loft) and, it being shipped from Britain. The building design allows the structure to withstand the tropics as much as possible. This building was always moved with a boat. This roof truss is an exactly replica of the one made years ago. This was done because of the rotting of the wood and termite infestations. The truss was cut to the exalt same measurements and made with green hard. The are no nails or screws used in the roof truss so it can be disassembled and reassemble in anytime. The lime stone used on this historical building was gathered from a hill that was demolished in order to acquire it. This lime stone is authentic to the building structure. The natural while lime mixed with water and a yellow pigment called yellow ochre. Every year it would be applied on the structure. The advantage of using this mixture is that, you would be able to replace it effortlessly, as opposed to using concrete which cannot be easily removed.
