About the Department
VISION
To be premier in producing excellent computer professionals through comprehensive
educational programmes, promoting students with managerial skills to become competitive
entrepreneurs, carrying out research in collaboration with industries and adaptive to ever-
changing technologies.
MISSION
Department of computer science and engineering shall impart to the educational,
economic and social development

 By developing the students, strong in fundamentals, proficient in technical skills,


strong in ethical values and knowledgeable in applying the skills for the welfare
of the society through quality faculty.

 By ensuring a good learning environment for the students and faculty by


providing them with adequate infrastructure.

 By enhancing the collaborative partnership between industry R&D organization


and institute for adaptation and research in latest technologies.
Programme Educational Objectives(PEO)

PEO 1: The graduates will have adequate knowledge in engineering mathematics, basic
science and in the fundamentals of computer science and engineering for successful
professional.
PEO 2: The graduates will analyze real life problems, design computing systems
appropriate to its solutions that are technically sound, economically feasible, socially
acceptable and collaborated with research.
PEO 3: The graduates will have self competency with ethical values to address the
technical challenges during their career along with effective teamwork and
communication.

Programme Outcomes (PO)


The PO of this programme will be framed based inputs from Industrial and an academic
expert with reference to the university curriculum and Graduate Attributes (GA). The suggestion
from senior faculty members is also taken into consideration for framing the PO.
a. The students will have the ability to apply knowledge of computing, mathematics,
science and engineering fundamentals appropriate to the discipline.
b. The students will have the ability to analyze a problem, and identify and formulate the
computing requirements appropriate to its solution.
c. The students will have the ability to design a algorithm ,develop a processor specific
code to meet the specification of the real world problems.
d. The students will have the ability to formulate a rule/knowledge based method and to
apply heuristic approaches to interpret and analyze the data for the attainment of problem
optimization.
e. The students will have the ability to conceptualize the problem requirements and to
identify the appropriate computing platforms in developing a specific solution.

f. The students will have the ability to apply various software engineering models and to
develop a computational/IT solutions to support the needs of public and private welfare.

g. The students will have the potential to adopt systematic and effective approach in
developing an application specific modules based on the guidelines given by the
professional society.

h. The students will have the ability to exhibit effective teamwork during diverse and
multidisciplinary areas such as information management, human computer interaction,
programming, networking, web systems and pervasive computing.
i. The students will have the ability to function as a team and to communicate effectively
their innovative ideas and software models in various technical forums.
j. The students will have the ability to device a strategic work plan for the design problems
and will document the evidence and future directions for the benefit of the society.
k. The students will have the motivation in updating the current and futuristic needs of the
society and adopt themselves according to the scenario.

Lab Details

LABORATORIES
The department of CSE has good infrastructure. The  Laboratories have over 275 computers. The
Labs located  in the academic  blocks is supported with special workstation running  on
Unix/Linux environment, dedicated workstation  for multimedia  applications, all labs are
connected via network that brings over all computers together. The department is providing high-
end software training for the students within our campus, in collaboration  with leading software-
training institutions.
A separate  Computer Centre has been established for the welfare of all the students of the
college, to utilize the facility in a better  way. Each laboratory is equipped with centralized UPS
system, unlimited internet facility and accessories like printers. The labs that are available
include:
Internet Programming Laboratory
 35 Systems with the installation of Languages like C/C++, Java, Linux Operating
System.
Visual Programming Laboratory
 35  Systems with the latest software installed.
 Windows XP Operating System.
 Oracle 10g has been  installed for the exclusive use for the database.
Multimedia Laboratory
 35  Systems with the latest software installed.
 Windows XP Operating System.
 Languages C/C++ and Java.
 Adobe  Photoshop and  Adobe  Flash, Blender for multimedia application.
Programming Language Laboratory
 35  Systems with the installation of C/C++ languages.
 Windows XP Operating System.
  NS2 simulator is used to simulate all the networking protocols, DNS server.
 Rational Rose Software for doing case tools studies.

 The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is a pioneer in initiating the

 An ACE Event on “Elocution Competition on the Topic of Recent Innovative Technical


Ideas in IT ” was organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering on
09.02.16
 A Guest lecture on “IOS Application Development” ,by Purshothaman.K,Research
Associate at Tringapps Research labs was organized by the department of Computer
Science and Engineering on06-02-2016,which benefited the Third Year and Final Year
Students of CSE and the students of M.E-Computer Science Students.
 A Guest lecture by Mr.K.Srinivasa Raghavan ,Senior Technical Director, NIC on
“Government Software Projects” by the Department of Computer Science and
Engineering on 02.08.2014.
 A Seminar on “How to prepare resume for On-Campus and Off-Campus Interviews
“ by three technical advisors named Mr.Varadharajan, Zoho Corporation; Mr.Praveen
Inbarajan, AEL Data Services; Mr.Ashwin, Real Images was organized by the
department of Computer Science and Engineering on 23.08.2014.which benefited the
Final Year students of CSE and the students of M.E-Computer Science Students.
 A Guest lecture by Mr.N.Lakshmi Narashiman,HR,Mahindra SATYAM,Chennai on
“Placement Talk” by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering on
08.01.2015.
 A Guest lecture by Mr.Dr.Ravi Dhakshina Moorthy,XSEED ITEM INDIAL,Chennai on
“Placement Talk” by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering on 24.1.15.
 A seminar on “Higher Studies in Foreign Universities “ by Prof.Orhan GemiKonakli
and Ms.Raki shah, MIDDLESEX university, London(UK),was organized by the
department of Computer Science and Engineering on 24.02.2015.which benefited the
Final Year and third year students of CSE and the students of M.E-Computer Science
Students.
 A Guest Lecturer on “Software Oriented Architecture “ by Dr.Ravi
Dakshinamoorthy, Founder & CEO, was organized by the department of Computer
Science and Engineering on 24.02.2015.which benefited the Final Year and third year
students of CSE and the students of M.E-Computer Science Students.
 A seminar on "Emerging Technologies" by O.R.B Raja, Training Director, USA
Career Institute, was organized by the department of Computer Science and Engineering
on 01.04.2015 which benefited the Third Year and second year students of CSE and the
students of M.E-Computer Science Students.

department of Computer Science and Engineering on 24.02.2015.
