ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The department of computer science and engineering was established in the year 2000 in our college.
Initially the intake of students in the department for the under graduate course was just around 60 and it gradually
increased to 120 number of students by the year 2006.
And within the next two years well equipped sophisticated computer laboratories with internet access was
developed. All these laboratories till today possess distinct infrastructure facilities. The department has Six separate
laboratories with computing facilities. More than required nodes are connected in LAN with advanced server.
Licensed software is available for all systems and application software. Industry standard tools for software
development, soft computing network simulation and monitoring are also available. Separate server and UPS rooms
were built. Internet facility with a normal speed of 512kbps was given in the year 2004 and by the year 2011, the
internet facility has been upgraded with about 17mbps speed.
PG course (M.E CSE) was established in the year 2009. Also, in the year 2011 the students secured 11th and
24th places among the university rank holders. A separate block has been built to cater the needs of the UG and PG
students and to facilitate them with adequate infrastructure.
In the year 2005, our department library was set up with reference books and other research materials for the
usage of both the students and faculty members. Our department started to organize the National Level Technical
Symposium's titled "TECHNOKRATZ" and has also achieved the overall championship in the symposium
conducted by the Jerusalem College of Engineering.
Workshops were conducted on, data ware-housing and data-mining in the year 2009. Workshop on open
source was conducted in the year 2010. Our department won the 2nd prize and silver trophy in SUN
MICROSYSTEM CODE for freedom system. AICTE sponsored the faculty development program on OOAD and
also a workshop was conducted on the same in the year 2011.
DRDO sponsored the international conference on intelligence computing- ICONIC'12 with amount of
Rs.30,000/-.We also conducted workshop on "ANROID" and "NS2" in the year 2013. Department is constantly
modernizing its facilities to adapt itself to the rapidly changing technological scenario.
