Statement of the Problem
• Employee engagement is a property of the relationship between an
organization and its employees. An engaged employee is one who
is fully absorbed by and enthusiastic about their work and so takes
positive action to further the organization’s reputation and interest

• Employee retention is the overall strategy or ability of an


organization to retain its best employees and hence maintain a
lower turnover

• In order to foster employee engagement it is important for line


managers to ensure that the right people are in the right jobs, goals
and objectives are clearly communicated, effort is appropriately
rewarded and opportunities for development are provided
Objectives of the Study
Primary objective

The main objective is to understand the impact of employee engagement


strategies on employee retention in the company

Secondary objectives

• To understand attitudes around workplace conditions that drive engagement

• To Identify opportunities to improve workplace conditions that drive engagement

• To uncover insights to develop highly targeted engagement strategies

• To discover potential compliance issues

• To assess intent to stay and turnover risks

• Type of research

The study is descriptive in nature

• Population

Employees working in Bangalore city

• Sample size

The sample for the study is limited to 100 units

• Sampling unit

The respondents are the employees of the company working in a particular branch

• Type of sampling

Simple random sampling method has been used for the study
Tools for Data Collection

Primary data

• Primary data has been collected using a structured


questionnaire as well as personal interview method

Secondary data

• The secondary data for this work has been obtained from
the company magazines and brochures, internet sources,
reports, websites and other promotional material
Methodology Used in the
Study

The data collected from various sources is tabulated and


represented using the percentage and ranking method.
Graphical tools such as bar graph and pie chart etc have
been used to illustrate the tabulated data pictorially.
Inferences and interpretation of the data will be done on the
basis of tabulated data
Findings
• The employees in the company feel encouraged to come up with
new and better ways of doing things

• The employees work in teams and are encouraged to contribute


equally and provide assistance whenever required

• Management shows genuine interest in reviewing and receiving


options and ideas from employees

• The company employees have been given the freedom to choose


what work they are comfortable doing

• The behaviour of senior management is genuine and polite


towards the middle and lower level management
Suggestions
• The employers should look beyond traditional talent sourcing

• Efforts to improve corporate communication need to be


implemented since good communication helps engage employees
better

• Relocation assignment practices must be adopted to boost


employee experience

• A culture of learning and development must sustain in the


environment

• Customer experience principles must be considered while


designing employee programs
Conclusion
• Engaged employees help organisations achieve its mission,
execute strategies and generate important business results

• The whole nature of meaning of work and the ground rules


for work employment relations have shifted and there is an
open space concerning the character of relationship to
work and to organization which employers sense can be
filled with more sophisticated approaches

• Organizations define and measure engagement in a variety


of different ways, suggesting there is no one right or best
way to define or stimulate engagement in the workforce
