GUIDELINES/MECHANICS:
1. The contest is open to all students in every college department of Bucas Grande Foundation
College.
2. There shall be one (1) contest piece. The contest piece shall be given two (2) weeks before the
contest.
3. “PEACE NOT WAR” by Patricia Lithuanian shall be the piece and be recited with vocal and other
effects in five (5) to seven (7) minutes, the entrance and exit shall be applied.
4. A 1-point deduction shall be made for every 30-second excess during the performance.
5. The number of participants of this competition shall be comprised with a minimum of ten (10)
and a maximum of fifteen (15) members.
6. Members of the choir shall wear and use costumes, props, and others whenever appropriate to
improve the choral interpretation of the piece.
7. Dangerous stunts shall be prohibited. The board of judges reserves the right to discontinue
presentations whenever posing danger or risks to the members of the team, the judges, and the
audience.
8. Violation would mean disqualification.
9. Ranking system shall be used in determining the winners.
10. Upon submission of the results to the committee, judges’ decision shall be considered final and
irrevocable.
CRITERIA:
40% DELIVERY (quality of voice, fluency, and pronunciation, blending and harmony)
20% STAGE PRESENCE (stage poise, eye contact and audience impact)
10% COSTUME, SOUND EFFECTS & PROPS (attire relevant to the concept, sound production)
