Dear Visa Officer,

Earlier I have applied for study permit for Professional Accounting Practice from Humber
College, Toronto, Canada. But unfortunately it was refused citing some reasons (Application
No: S302668901 and UCI: 1113502559).

The refusal letter cited the reasons like course relevance, level of establishment, language
abilities, future prospects and purpose of visit were not satisfactory due to which the visa officer
may not found me eligible for the proposed studies in Humber College.

With all due respect, I would like to take this opportunity to draw your attention towards certain
details which might prove my genuine intentions behind pursuing Professional Accounting
Practice in Humber College, a very well renowned college in Ontario, Canada.

INTRODUCTION:
I, Jasmine Kaur having admit from Humber College, Canada for the Professional Accounting
Practice. I am re-applying now with justification to the concerns raised by the respected Visa
Officer according to the refusal letter as follows:-

REASON FOR REJECTION

Due to, level of establishment, financial abilities, language abilities, course relevance, future
prospects and purpose of visit there is a chance that the visa officer has not found me eligible
for the proposed program.

JUSTIFICATION:

1. Academic Relevance to Course

I would like to inform you that I have been a consistent performer throughout my academic
career. I did my schooling from St. Thomas’ School affiliated to Central Board of
Secondary Education Delhi where I completed my 10 th with 80% in 2012 and 12 th
with 78% in commerce with mathematics in 2014.
In 2014, to pursue my future goals, I took admission in Janki Devi Memorial College, affiliated
to University of Delhi for Bachelor of Commerce Programme. I was one of the hard working
students of my college achieving First Division (71%) from Delhi University in 2017.
The curriculum which I studied during graduation has helped to build a strong
foundation in the field of accounts and management and laid the necessary
groundwork in building my future. The subjects like Financial Accounting, Business
Organization and Management, Company and Compensation Laws, Cost Accounting,
Financial Management, Income Tax Auditing, Financial Management laid the
foundation of my career.

Also I would like to mention that I scored highest marks in Business

Communications subject in Semester Four in Second Year of my graduation.

Through these subjects only I got more fascinated towards working of accounting. As per the
requirements of the institute, I was also exposed to the needs and aspirations of the industry
through a series of well-orchestrated lectures by eminent people who are leaders in their field.

While doing my Bachelors, I got the opportunity to participate in program based on

entrepreneurship development by Kris Srikanth. I also participated in the inter college quiz
programme from Jaipuria Institute of Management besides a seminar for enhancement of
leadership skills and Team work by IMT group of institutes. Last but not the least I also got an
opportunity to be a part of the National Literacy Mission.

2. Relevance of Work History

After completing my graduation, I decided to gain some professional experience. To enhance

my knowledge, I joined Nilmani K & Co., there I worked as an Accountant for 8 months. I was
able to learn about preparing and analyzing accounting records, how to check
accuracy of reports, tax computing and filing income tax returns etc. This job
motivated me to gain some more experience in the same field. Then, in Feb 2018 I got an
opportunity to work with United Hotels Limited, Vivanta by TAJ Ambassador Hotel,
New Delhi as a Accounts Associate in Finance Department on contractual basis from
1st February 2019 to 31stJuly 2019. Currently working with the same company as my
contract renewed in month of February 2019 which is valid till 31 st July 2019. My day to day
work in brief includes preparation of daily Business Report(DBR), preparing high
balance report and highlight to office manager and HOD’s, verify revenue part and
settlement part of the hotel business, approvals for complimentary rooms, late
checkouts etc. besides review of routing and GSTIN in company profile.

While acquiring the above working knowledge/experience I thought of gaining further

knowledge in the field of accounting that too in an international environment. I decided to go
ahead for the further studies in Professional Accounting Practice from Humber, Canada.
 3. Language Abilities

My IELTS overall score overall 6.5 bands with 6.5 in Listening, 6.0 in Reading, 6.5 in
Writing and 7.0 bands in Speaking. Also, I always had interest in English language and I have
also scored well in English subject for class XII i.e.95.

4. Personal Establishment & Ties to Home Country

I live in a Nuclear family. We are very well settled in India. There are four members in my
family. My Father is employed as Assistant Manager- Finance with Taj Hotel (The Indian Hotels
Company Ltd.) from last 30 years. He is been my role model in achieving my dream of
becoming Professional Accounting Manager. My mother is also employed as Senior Personal
Assistant with Delhi Transco Limited. My younger brother is pursuing Bachelors in Engineering
from Panjab University. It’s my parents dream that I should get quality education and
experience. My family has been my strength and motivation throughout my life. Due to their
support, I am able to achieve what I have desired for. Also, my parents supported me so well
and given me chance to study abroad. It becomes my responsibility to come back to
India and give them the comfortable life they deserve, which would be impossible
without your support.

5. Financial Abilities:

I would also like to highlight that we are financially well established in the country.
I have paid my One year Full tuition fees CAD $16,950 as well as Living Expenses
CAD $10,000. My parents own liquid assets of worth Rs. 7,990,925 i.e. CAD$
147,980. Besides that they also own properties worth Rs. 16,400,000 (Equivalent to
CAD$ 303,704).

With the above mentioned financial abilities, I am sure my family can easily support all the
expenses associated with my studies which includes Study as well as Living Expenses.

6. Future Prospects and plans

The field of Accounting has got importance over the period of time. Accounting is the language
of business. Every small and big business understands the importance of accounting. In every
business the accounting professional are responsible for financial statement account review and
analysis.

Today’s complex and fast changing accounting world puts new demands on
companies seek ways not just to manage the change, but also to use their
accounting techniques as a source of competitive advantage. Those with the best
records are thinking far beyond their own boundaries. New technology is having a
profound impact, helping them to manage accounts and realize maximum efficiency
at the lowest possible cost.

The perspective program will not only provide bookish knowledge but in-depth analysis and
research of projects, also. I plan to return to India and work for one of the top
accounting firms, corporative financial institutions and big multinational companies.
Three to four years down the line, I would like to be a part of one of the good
accounting and financial auditing firms catering to the requirements of the fast
growing business.

By studying at Humber College, I expect to learn more about all of the latest techniques used in
accounting and how to make strategic changes as needed to ensure continued competitiveness.

7. Purpose of Visit

I would like to bring to your kind notice that my only reason to visit Canada is to learn latest
techniques used in accounting as India. I belong from a well-educated family. Since childhood, I
wanted to become a Professional Accountant. But at the same time, I believe my aim cannot be
achieved without formal education and practical exposure. Therefore, I decided to pursue my
Post Graduate Certificate from Canada as Canadian Colleges are well reputed and the course
curriculum is designed as per the industry’s requirement.

WHY PROFESSIONAL ACCOUNTING PRACTICE?

Although I gained working experience based on my B.Com degree. While working as such I was
motivated to go ahead and pursue higher studies in the profile of accounting in Humber’s
Professional Accounting Practice. This course will enable me to not only to understand
the financial accounting, management accounting and statistics for accounting and
career planning for professional accounting as well. I am interested in the above
mentioned profile because of its challenges and essence to the industry. It will also help me to
demonstrate the ability to identify accounting and finance issues and problems.

Further to collect, organize, analyze present and evaluate relevant information

using appropriate technology, formats, methods and techniques for accounting
discipline. My decision to study in Canada for accounting program is purely based on firsthand
research. I undertook thorough research so as to select the best possible option for higher
studies will help me to covert this opportunity into a bright career. The diversity in work
environment and culture will prepare me better to face the impact of different actions,
thoughts, values and cultures on business worldwide. I am confident that the course I
have chosen will help me in preparing to face the challenges in the field of
accounting in global environment work culture.

Semester-I: Introductory Financial Accounting, Introductory Management Accounting,

Microeconomics, Canadian business Law, corporate finance , statistics for accounting, career
planning for professional accounting.

Semester-II: Audit and assurance, personal taxation, intermediate Management accounting.

Semester-III: Audit and Insurance 2, Information Systems, Advanced Financial Reporting,

Macroeconomics, Corporate Taxation, Performance Management and Work Placement.

destination for international students to pursue higher education. Thus, I am of firm belief that

me an ideal launching pad for a global career.

FUTURE GOALS

With this international degree there will be number of opportunities for me in India as well as in
any part of the world. This degree will help me to work with the top accounting firms,
corporative financial institutions and big multinational companies. Three to four
years down the line, I would like to be a part of one of the good accounting and
financial auditing firms catering to the requirements of the fast growing business.

After completion of my program I plan to return to India and work for one of the leading
multinational accounting/finance firm as an accounting professional capable of dealing with a
broad range of people, companies and financial situations. The program offered by Humber
College in accounting will enable me to achieve the goals I have set for myself. I expect to
have a long career in this field and benefit a wide range of companies. In this way, I
hope to add to the general development of my country’s fast growing economy and become a
leading professional in the field of accounting.
