EM 260/410/510 Slitter traction unit BG 18

Description

Slitter traction unit BG 18 is designed as

an attachment for a HD slitter station.

This enables HD slitter station BG 17 to be

used on the last base frame BG 10 (overall
length 610 mm) so that it is not necessary
to employ a die-cutting slitting station BG
07 in order to achieve optimum web ten-
sion.
A pneumatically loaded rubber conveyor
roller and a knurled conveyor roller ensure
slip-free movement.

3. Operation

3.3 Inserting web

Note:
Before inserting the web, rubber conveyor
roller 8 must be raised off knurled con-
veyor roller 3. This is done by setting
tumbler switch 6 to the "open" position.

To ensure correct functioning of slitter

traction unit BG 18, it is essential that the
run of the web corresponds to the above
sketch.

After the web coming from HD slitter sta-

tion BG 17 has been threaded between
knurled conveyor roller 3 and rubber con-
veyor roller 8, rubber transport roller 8 can
be engaged again. This is done by setting
tumbler switch 6 to the "CLOSED" posi-
tion.

roller. The maximum working pressure of
6 bar must never be exceeded.

The required pressure setting depends on

the web material so that it is not possible
to give a standard optimum value. The
pressure should be set high enough to en-
sure that the web is fed through without
trouble. On the other hand, the pressure
should be set low enough to ensure that
the web is not damaged.
In most cases, the pressure setting lies
between 4 bar and 5 bar.
