    Q1: Choose any company between clothing, restaurant, bar?

    Sol I will go with the clothing

    Q2: What are your assets?

    Sol:Following will be my assets:

     Land where outlet is established


     Signage
     Furniture(shelves and Racks)
     Employee
     Types of Display Cases
     Sales material and Tags
     Cash in hand
     Goodwill

    Q3: Select two of your top assets. What are the ways to develop or improve these assets?

    Sol: The two major assets for the restaurant will be Cash and Goodwill.

     Cash can be gained by selling more items to the larger number of customers with
    immense satisfaction and quality. If I will serve the good quality of stuff in the outlet
    the customer will be happy, and they will pay as per the satisfaction level and they
    will come again if they will be happy and satisfied which will cater and enhance the
    cash requirement.
     Similarly,if the goodwill of the company will be good then more and more customers
    will come and sell of the company will increase eventually. It will motivate
    employees to serve better to the customers so that Goodwill of the company
    increases and will attract more customers.

    Q4: Determine whether any of these assets can be a core competency using criteria
    below:

     Explain why or why does it provide benefits to the customer?


     Is it hard to imitate?
     Does it offer access to a wide variety of markets?
     Which one of the two strategies discussed to achieve a competitive advantage
    does your company have potential to achieve? Why?
     How would you go about achieving this?

    Sol: Yes, indeed Goodwill can be a core competency as customers prefers to go to those
    company only which have the better quality and service. In business, creatingGoodwill can
    help you to build relationships that ensure the long term success of your business.

    Ex:Nike starts with story and emotion to conquer hearts and minds.

    When we talk about the intimating their strategy, it is not easily possible to copy a firm’s
    strategy and implement it. As every firm has its own strategic resources which varies.

    Primarily I will go with Value Chain and SWOT analysis to the competitive advantage among
    the other peers in the industry.

    As the SWOT will enable me to introspect the weakness and threats for my outlet. However,
    the value chain will help in cost cutting in operational activities as well as other overheads
    reduction.

    Ex:louis philippe is a popular Indian brand of men's apparel owned by Aditya Birla group.
    The premium brand name is one of the largest apparel brands in India and also into the
    business of shoes,suits, wallets and watches
