Fire Alarm Calculation

Each detector protect 10 to 20 m2 Average = 15

Each zone include 10 to 20 detectors Average = 15

M.V. Switch Gear Room

Area = 15 x 4.6 m2
Number of detectors = (15x4.6/15) = 4.6 ( 4 detectors)

Generator Shed Room

Area = 6.3 x 4.8 m2
Number of detectors = (6.3x4.8/15) = 2.16 ( 2 detectors)

Transformer Shed Room

Area = 6.9 x 4.8 m2
Number of detectors = (6.9x4.8/15) = 2.2 ( 2 detectors)

Guard House
Area = 2.5 x 2.5 m2
Number of detectors = (2.5x2.5/15) = 0.5 ( one detectors)

Control Room
Area = 8.77 x 4.6 m2
Number of detectors = ( 8.77x4.6/15) = 2.7 ( 3 detectors)

Store (2) Room

Area = 3.1 x 4.6 m2
Number of detectors = ( 3.1x4.6/15) = 0.95 ( one detector)

Store (1) Room

Area = 6.25 x 5.75 m2
Number of detectors = ( 6.25x5.75/15) = 2.39 ( 3 detectors)

Toilet Room
Area = 2.5 x 4.125 m2
Number of detectors = ( 2.5x4.125/15) = 0.69 (one detector)

Pump House Room

Area = 48 x 14 m2
Due to the height of pump house = 12 m > 5 m , So the conventional detectors are
not used , in our case we used (transmitter/receiver) detector
Number of detectors = ( 4 detectors)

Number of zones
There are two zones

Zone (1)
includes ( pump house + store 1 + toilet + guard house + transformer shed )
Total number of detectors = 4 + 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 = 11 detectors
Zone (2)
Includes ( generator shed + m.v. switch gear + control room + store 2 )
Total number of detectors = 2 + 4 + 3 + 1 = 10 detectors
