BP Exploration Libya
Drilling Operations Advisor (April 1st, 2009 to 2018)

 Contribution in tendering process, accountable for land rig selection, liner hanger, water
wells rig, casing accessories, rental tools and wellheads.
 Establish and maintain good working relationship with national oil corporation (NOC) to
ensure that all concerns are raised and addressed at earliest opportunity leading to approvals
in line with the target project schedule.
 Maintain petroleum regulation time and status log of all wells related notice and
permissions.
 Establish and maintain good working relationship with NOC/IOC operators as well as
contractors to ensure that lesson learnt and offset information are delivered to optimize
company plans based on local experience and knowledge of neighbors in the region.

 Advice management on issues associated with utilization and quality of services/providers to
ensure selection of competent and satisfactory suppliers.
 Influencing and driving safety leadership in to Libya wells marketplace.

Drilling Engineer (June 1, 2008 to end March 2009)

 Participated in prequalification and preparation of tender documents for land rig selection,
liner hanger, water wells rig, casing accessories, rental tools and wellheads, ESP Package
including VSD (variable speed drive) …etc.
 Prepared well design for onshore exploration wells
Prepared AFE Cost estimate & monitored the drilling budget.
 Liaised with IOC/NOC operators for offset data and lesson learned
 Advise management for local supplier quality
 Maintain petroleum regulation time and status log of all wells related notice and
permissions.

Senior Drilling Engineer (January 1, 2006 to end May 2008)

 Prepared well design, coring, liner, completion, testing and suspension programs for
Exploration/ Appraisal wells
 Prepared prequalification’s/tenders for material / equipment required for drilling campaign,
evaluating the proposals & issue the purchase orders
 Prepared AFE Cost estimate, follow up daily cost tracking & make sure reported is in proper
way. Monitor the drilling budget on daily basis
 Prepare lookahead, review daily drilling reports & sent to Headquarter, National Oil Co-
operation (NOC) & Partner (JVP) on daily basis. Maintain well files.
 Prepare & evaluate tendering and negotiation of service contracts.
 Prepared end of well report and lesson learnt.

prior left Woodside.

WAHA OIL COMPANY, Tripoli, Libya

Waha is the national oil company of Libya with Marathon, ConocoPhillips, and Amerada Hess
of USA as partners, WOC is classified as the 2nd operator in Libya in terms of production and
the most active operator in terms of drilling, well completion and work-over activities, prior the
Libya events WOC was running 17 drilling rigs and 28 work-over rigs.
Senior Staff Petroleum Engineer (December 2002 to December 2005)

 Supervised daily drilling, workover, completion and testing operations; prepared drilling,
completion, testing and work-over programs for deep (12-16,000 feet) and high pressure
wells up to 7,000 psi formation pressure.
 Performed ESP designing; optimizing oil production; forecasting & evaluating well
problems & preparing work-over justifications
 Evaluated stimulation proposals & prepared stimulation programs
 Prepared down hole completion equipment technical specifications for bids invitation;
evaluated services purchasing bids related completion equipment & production
operations;
 Prepared wellhead equipment specifications, tendering and bid evaluations providing
technical advice for junior staff in the Planning Department, Tripoli office

International Petroleum Libya Limited (IPLL) a joint venture company between National Oil
Company (NOC) and Petro Canada.

WAHA OIL COMPANY, Tripoli, Libya


Senior Project Engineer---Faregh Field (February 2001--February 2002)

 Prepared required programs & followed up daily operations for well completions and
well tests for 26 wells at Faregh Field (Phase I), including HPHT wells in sweet and sour
gas presence.
 Prepared technical specifications of down hole completions for natural flow & pumping
wells.

 Prepared scope of work for 26 wells, modified well heads X mass Tree to accommodate
the proposed completion string. This save the company replacing the X mass Tree
(estimate saving $ 500,000)

Drilling & Production Coordinator---Gialo Field (February 1999--Feb. 2001)

 Supervised daily operations for 3 work over rigs & 2 drilling rigs
 Looked after operating facilities with more than 250 producing wells
 Managed/ trained/evaluated 200 personnel
 Conducted operation & maintenance of 2 major production facilities & 2 satellite
facilities; 2 diesel plants, 2 gas compressors, and an Ionic water plant capable of
processing water for 500 persons
 Undertaken capital budget, expense reports, procurement of drilling & down hole
equipment
 Defined & implemented servicing and well testing contracts
 Coordinated annual shutdowns

Drilling & Production Coordinator---Dahra Field (October 1992--February 1999)

 Same as above but in a different field


 Supervised 180 personnel.
 Conducted operation & maintenance of LRP (liquid recovery plant)

1992)

 Supervised daily operations of drilling, completion, testing & workover for water wells,
saltwater disposal (SWD), water injection wells, cathodic protection (CP) wells &
various depth oil wells
 Performed trouble-shooting for drilling, completion and workover operations.
 Looked after coring, D.S.T., perforations, cement squeezing, stimulation, fracturing,
logging & well testing

Drilling & Workover Engineer---Gialo Field (February. 1985-- Sept. 1987)

 Reviewed & amended the initial design prepared by the planning department relating to
drilling, completion, work over & well testing activities.
 Solved drilling problems such as shale sloughing, salt formation, lost circulation, water
bearing formation and high formation pressure, and experienced using low solids
polymer, K.C.L. & oil base mud systems.
 Coordinated programs and followed up operations for coring, D.S.T., perforations,
cement squeezing, stimulation, , fracturing, logging & well testing.
