Mr Amirul: I am glad to be here with all members for our meeting with Department of
Counseling today. I want to thank all of you for being present in meeting.
Before that, may I know the attendance each members?
Okay, look at the previous programma is went well. So,I hope for this year
programme with our agenda that I give to all of you can be more effective and
give positive effect to Malaysian citizen and for people that we help.
To not wasting our time, let’s talk about our all agenda, we start from Asraf.
So Asraf, how about your programme progress? Can you explain to all of us.
Mr Asraf: Good morning to chairman and all my members. Without waste the time, so
let me explain about my programme that I conduct which is “Volunteer to
Somalia”. Everything went well. That I explain before. My programme need a
lot of fund for buy and set up all of necessary such as helping package include
medicine , facilities for Somalia citizen for the example tent, shirt, pants and
another of facilities that the need.
So next, we talk about fund, we have no issues or problem about fund because
we have a lot of fund from another NGO such as UniCef, Malaysia Airlines,
PERKAMA and of course from our government. Third, our programme have
team work with UniCef, intan will explain about this point so I continue for
next point.
Mr Amirul: Asraf, I heard you have a little bit problem? That you have a lack of
volunteers. So, what is a solution that you take to solve it?
Mr Asraf: Last but not least, we do an interview for students that want to join our
volunteer to Somalia. So our candidates consist from UM, UKM, UISM, UIA,
and from private University student. One university we pick five students
only, because we need too volunteer that have a lot of experience and we pick too
actor volunteer that always work for citizen. So for your information
chairman, our this programme spend around 1 Million MYR.
Mr Amirul: Good Mr Asraf, I hope you can handle this volunteer mission at Somalia well.
Mr Syafiq: Assalamualaikum and good morning to our chairman and other members.
We will continue our topic is about counsellor training. For your information,
before we all go to volunteer mission, we must learn some survival activities
to make we more be ready to other issues or problem. Before wo go, we will
be training for 3 months at Camp Military Base. Location we will be train at
REJIMEN 514 AW, Melaka. After arrive at Melaka, we will be introduced by
military officer, Capt. Zaid.
Mr Syafiq: According to Capt. Zaid, we will train not to use weapon because we’ll no to
use any weapon it will cause dangerous.
Mr Amirul: Who with us? Any member from Military will take care of our volunteer?
Mr Syafiq: We also will be company by six (6) people from elite unit to protect our
safety at Somalia. First is Captain Mohamad Safiq, Sergeant Mohd Zuhdi,
Corporal Afiq Asyraf, Corporal Mohamad Imran, Private Abdul Hakim, and
Private Muqri. They also will conduct our training methods to survive at
Somalia. With this training, our volunteers will know and learn how to
survive at Somalia and get more experience training with Army Elite
Forces.
Mr Syafiq: Our volunteers will also learn courses about how to help people at Somalia.
They also be teach or introduce how to communicate with people at there. And
for a good news, our Force will be joins and corporate with Somali Armed
Forces to make sure our volunteers will be safe. So our volunteers don’t worry
about safety. We also be protected by UN or PBB soldier.
Mr Syafiq: We also know that our Military Minister will be provided some medical and
counsellor from Army to support and help the volunteers. With this activities,
its will make our country relationship more strength.
Mr Amirul: That’s great present Mr Syafiq. I believe you can lead this training.
Ms Intan: Yes that’s right. Let’s me explain one by one. Firstly, it about a convening
power. UniCef uses its unique position to convene both public and non-public
stake holder saround children’s rights issues at the local, national and global
levels. So, this will make it easier for us to get help from Unicef in helping
Somalia citizen.
Ms Intan: Through partnering with UniCef, so we have benefited from its technical
expertise in matching local work to international priorities, preparing high-
quality funding proposals and procuring resources. Then, we also can making
innovations accessible UniCef seeks to identify and scale up delivery of
innovative life-saving interventions, including through the use of new
technologies.
Mr Amirul: Okay good. Next, How about catalysing behaviour and policy we should
know ?
Ms Intan: For catalysing behaviour and policy change UNICEF makes a crucial
difference by advocating for the development of policies and mechanisms that
protect child rights and, by raising public awareness around children’s issues.
Child Protection from Violence, Exploitation and Abuse, Prevention of HIV /
AIDS among children, and Child Support Policy Child Rights and
Cooperation in such efforts. UniCef also helps in the development of children
from childhood, adolescent development, and education-based living skills.
Mr Amirul: What make you think that UniCef will joinventure with us ?
Mr Amirul: Alright, we will proceed to Jefni. How about your Annual Dinner progress?
