Materials
• Pierrot Yarns Cotton Smile [100% cotton; 109 yds/100m per 1.41 oz./ 40g
skein]; color #19 mahogany; 5 skeins [170g] – discontinued; please choose
appropriate substitute
• 2.5mm (approx. US B or C) crochet hook or size necessary to achieve gauge

Gauge
• pattern stitch: 25 sts and 10.5 rows = 10cm/4" square

Finished measurements
• bust 90cm/35.43" • length 51cm/20.08"
• cross back width 35cm/13.78"

Crochet Tips
Body: Chain to cast on and working first row into bottom loops of chain, begin working in pattern stitch. Refer
to schematics for shaping (increasing and decreasing) of sides, armscyes, neckline, and shoulders. Seam sides
with slip stitch seam. Seam shoulders with slip-chain seam (see below).

Finishing: Work hem and armscye edging in the round. Starting from front center, work collar edging around
front and back of neckline. Join starting edge of collar to body with mattress stitch. Chain a cord of
100cm/39.37"; thread through bottom of third row of edging, forming crisscross pattern. Tie cord.

Abbreviations: ch = chain; CO = cast on; rep = repeat(s)

slip/chain seam: essentially a slip stitch seam with chain stitches interspersed between slip stitches. Sl st
through one stitch in each layer. *ch2, sl st in top of next row*, continue from * to * until end.
