CREATIVE INDUSTRIES II: PERFORMING ARTS (NOTE READING)

I. OBJECTIVES

The students should be able to:

 Identify the value of notes according to time signatures.


 Read and perform the note values through clapping, singing…etc.
 Show appreciation to music through note reading.

II. MATERIALS

ICT materials
50 copies of printed handouts and worksheets

III. PROCEDURE

A. Before the Lesson

B. Motivation

“Before we start our lesson for today, we’ll
be having an activity. I have here set of
riddles and jumbled words. This activity had
something to do with our topic today.

Instructions:
I will be grouping you into 3 groups. Each
group will be given an envelope with 2 (Students will participate in the activity)
riddles and jumbled words inside. You are
going to assemble the letters to make it
correct. You will be given 5 minutes to
answer the riddle and assemble the letters.
After arranging the letter, you will post it in
front and a representative from the group
will read the given riddle and their answer”

(Teacher will group the students and will


give the materials)

1. Riddle 1 & 2:
 1,2,3,4,5 layered straight lines with
given space which counts 1,2,3,4. I’m
the foundation of a beautiful master
piece.

Answer: STAFF

 I’m placed in a manner where I assign


the individual black and white keys. I
have two commonly used symbols; one
for my brother and one for my sister.

answers)
2. Riddle 3 & 4:

“Now, I have one last riddle for you. I will


read it to you then I will flash the words on
the screen. Please raise your hand if you
know the answer”

Teacher’s Riddle:
 I am the master piece itself. You can
see and hear me but you can’t touch
me.

Answer: MUSIC “It’s MUSIC Ma’am!”

group will be given 5 minutes to interpret a
short piece. I will be giving you the (Students will listen to the teacher’s
materials and the piece. You will only read instruction)

stomping. You can do those while singing
the value of the notes.”

Rhythm Accuracy – 45%


Pulse – 15%
Tones in the presentation– 40%
