ABSTRACT

The project entitled ‘Automart’ is an online Automobile shopping system that


allows web users to purchase used cars online without visiting any physical location.

‘Automart’ allows the user to purchase Automobile online and Bid cars in
Auction. The Site Administrator updates the information about new Automobiles
concurrently. Only registered customers can purchase Automobiles bid from Automart.
The system also maintains the details of new Automobiles, company details, feedbacks.
The registered user or the general user can also post comments regarding the system. The
user must be register the site to access their accounts, after login they can buy used cars
using credit cards and bid Automobiles which are available for auction. The user can bid
a car with a high rate than the latest Bid Rate, before the date expires. After date expires,
the site sends the Confirmation letter to the user who bid the car with highest rate through
email-id which they specified.

3.1 Existing System

A problem to be computerized is called a ‘system’. System analysis is the detailed


study of the various operations performed by a system and their relationship within and
outside the systems. In the system analysis process the life-cycle methodology relates the
different significant phases in the project.

In the present system, it is a manual process. Manual process is by means of


conversation or paper work. The drawback of existing system is the impossibility of time
management.

3.2 Proposed System

The proposed system will give solutions to the problems mentioned in earlier system.
This system has three modules.

The first module deals with search functionality to search items category wise, then
Brand wise and Model wise . It also deals with implementation of Shopping Management
application functionality such as adding items to cart and removing items from cart .User
can search items category wise by logging into the system.

The second module deals with the adding of new products ,editing product details,
changing password.

The proposed system will be very easy, efficient, simple and fault free. This will
provide an easier interface with the user and also make data access easy as well. It
reduces loss of data and will give faster access to data. It is user friendly and basic
learning is needed to use it. It takes less time for execution and provide greater security
by preventing unauthorized access.

In order to overcome the drawbacks in the existing system, database is created which is:

 Integrated
 Accessibility
 Reliable
 Consistent
 Secure

The present database

 Helps in speedy information retrieval.


 Extract information from tables using menus.
 Offers options of the online updating and in maintaining up to date information.

The proposed system is

 Menu driven and user friendly.


 It assists in quick deletion of errors by issuing appropriate error message.
 Validity of input data is automatically checked and error will be immediately
signaled.
 Efficient utilization of resources.
