NARRATIVE REPORT:

(IMMERSION SEMINAR/
ORIENTATION)

For us to be prepared in doing our Work Immersion, our school decided to

orient and made a seminar about this matter, they let us to know about this.
Our seminar started last Wednesday lead by our adviser Sir Tony Tapia who
taught us about the Safety in the Workplace, Workplace Rights and Responsibilities,
Confidentiality in Workplace, and Effective Conflict Resolution and Teamwork.
These topics allow us to have awareness in our workplace in all aspects. There are
things and important lessons stated by Sir Tony that left a mark on my mind.
The safety in the workplace is the best decision a company can make for all
the workers because in order to work well, you must consider first the safeness of
your place and if you don’t consider that, you and your work will be affected. But
of course, the safeness will come first from the company itself by implementing
safety programs such as seminar and orientation of the workplace. Without these
safety programs and precautions, it can totally affect the number or your workers.
Another is the workplace rights and responsibilities. As an employee you MUST
know your rights as well as your responsibilities simple because you are a worker.
One of your rights is the Labor Code of the Philippines, you should get your right
wages, salary, benefits, insurances, and compensations in exchange of your hard
work and service to your company.
On our 2nd day of orientation one of our topic was all about the Confidentiality
in Workplace. You should know how to protect your own personal information but
how you’ll do that? First, your individual files are locked and secured, don’t tell
other people’s file unless they have permission, and medical details must not be
discussed. Prior to that are the information you should consider confidential, name,
age, date of birth, sex, address, contact details of your family, bank details, service
and medical records, and personal care issues because in protecting those
informations it seems that you give importance and value to your privacy and to
yourself. Last, my favorite part taught by Sir is the Effective Conflict Resolution and
Teamwork. These are the things that we should apply, listen then speak out, gather
the group, be impartial, don’t postpone conflict resolution, promote teamwork, and
broadcast praise. When we combine all of these there is a one word that I think
connected to it, the word “EMPATHY’, it is understanding or putting yourself to the
situation of others. In a team or group, it is not necessary that you only think for
yourself but on understanding everyone’s situation.
I therefore conclude that this seminar taught me a lot of things in the
workplace, it’s either inside or outside of the workplace.

NARRATIVE REPORT:
(ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND
BUSINESS PLAN)

“Entrepreneurship is about building a life on your own terms. No bosses. No

restricting schedules. And no one holding you back. Entrepreneurs are able to take
the first step into making the world a better place, for everyone in it.”
At first, I’m not interested to Entrepreneurship because I thought it only deals
with creating a business and on how you will make a profit. But then I am totally
wrong, understanding it with self-interest will make you realize that it conquers all
and it is very important to know what it’s all about. We can use it on our daily lives,
in this subject we’ll know the different types of organization structure, types of
customer, types of markets, and so many more. But one topic took my attention, the
business plan. A business plan is a road map that provides directions so a business
can plan its future and helps it avoid bumps in the road. We can use this as a guide
if we will make a business. So, our subject teacher told us to make a business plan
for our future business.
In doing our business plan, I found it so hard because I’m not used of being a
leader and I don’t have any ideas about creating a business but then as they said,
“Walang ibibigay sa’yo si Lord ng hindi mo kaya.” So, it means that we can do it.
We are holding on that promise.
The process of doing of our business plan is not what I am expected, it goes
smoothly and easily because of the perseverance of my groupmates. I told them that
we must know the information that we inputted on every part of the business plan
because in that way we can easily understand which is connected and relevant to
each other. We enjoyed doing this business plan because we are really envisioning
our future business. Thanks to Sir Tony who taught us all of these, we are able to
imagine and prepare for our business we will make in the future.

(WORK IMMERSION ORIENTATION FOR
STUDENTS)

For the continuation of our preparation in our Work Immersion we had our
chance to meet Ms. Conception de Rueda to remind and teach us the guidelines in
our workplace. She mentioned the work ethics or the proper work manners and
these are:
• make a good first impression
• be respectful to others
• don't be late
• dress appropriately
• think before you speak
• be friendly to employees
• be polite
Next is the things that we must not do during our immersion. These are the
following:
• don't chew gums during meetings
•don't use mug with obnoxious phrases or slogans on them
• don't have a loud conversation on office phones
• don't give unsolicited advice
• don't make personal remarks about someone's appearance or clothing
These work ethics summed up the proper and appropriate things that we
should follow and do during our immersion and if you don't follow those things it
will have a big impact or it can totally affect your school, because in working on
immersion you carry your own name of school. And remember this line, "Make
your school proud."

(DOING OUR RESUME AND
APPLICATION FORM)

In order for us to complete our requirements for our Work Immersion we

first made a resume to fully introduce ourselves to whom it may be given and an
application form to allow us to work on our designated workplace.
The things that I’ve learned in doing our resume and job application form
are, you need to be careful putting information about yourself. What you inputted
on those documents are very important because they will be going to make it as
their basis on choosing you as their employee. Last thing that I’ve learned, you
need to be honest with your information there. It must be right and legitimate
because if it’s not legit you’re fooling the company and you are also fooling
yourself.
