Name of the Scheme: Construction of one no. 60.00 mtr centre span single lane steel trussed motorable
bridge on Gambir nallah on Kathar to Ponthal road Block Dansal District Jammu.

Connectivity
The proposed bridges on the road in km 4th shall provide all weather connectivity to village Ponthal with
the Kathar in Block Dansal of district Jammu.
Present Status
Presently the public travels through nallah bed crossing on the bridal path only during fair weather
condition. There is no regular crossing over nallah during the raining season and public has to
wait for hours till the flood water recedes in the nallah.
Proposal and Specifications
It is Proposed to construct a single lane through truss girder bridge in km 4th at Rd:-935-995 on Road
Kathar to Ponthal, as per the design made for class A single lane loading. The Carriage Width of the Bridges
shall be 4.250 mtr.

Sub-Structure
The foundation of the abutment shall be open type, taken down to depth conforming to design
consideration based on safe bearing capacity. The abutment shaft shall be constructed
in RCC M-30 Grade design mix confirming to IRC bridge codes. Dirt wall, abutment cap and return wall shall
also be provided in RCC M-30 Grade. 100mm dia weep holes at 01 mtr. Spacing both horizontal
and vertically will be provided in sub-structure members.
Super-structure
Through Truss steel girder super-structure is proposed to span the bridge confirming to design
consideration of IRC bridge codes .The decking shall be provided in RCC slab in M-30
grade design mix. Provision has been kept for providing steel railing, drainage spouts and expansion joints
in super–structures. Rocker and Roller bearings are proposed for smooth transmissions of load to the
Sub-structure. The steel structure members shall be provided with one coat of red oxide followed by two
or more coats of emulsion paints.
