1. How would you describe your experience in community service? (15 sentences)
To be honest, when I first heard about community service, I felt excited. Because I love
meeting people and hearing different stories. And I truly believe in this one quotation "The giver
receives even more than she gives, giving time can be more important than giving things." I
believe it all. In any community service experience, I learned so much about myself. Having an
activity like this which we called a community service widen my perspective and point-of-view
in building communication or building connection with other people. It thought me that I'm not
the only person who is suffering. Everyone is fighting a battle in their own, and while I'm
fighting my own war in life, I shouldn't forget to give selfless aid and help to others. That is why
as much as possible, I gave my things that is not meant for me and gave to those people who are
in need because giving is one of the best investments you can make towards achieving genuine
happiness. I remember one of my teacher in senior high school said that true giving comes from
the heart, with no expectation of reciprocation and you’ll find that the more you give, the more
you’ll receive. It has been my experience that when you’re focused on giving to others you’re
less likely to become consumed by your own concerns and challenges
As a student, community service can have a lot of positive effects on students, such as
helping them to develop skills, making contacts, and allowing them to improve the quality of life
of others. Engaging in community service provides students with the opportunity to become
active member of their community and has a lasting, positive impact on society at large. One
way that makes the heart feel better is that mind-set of an engaging servitude to one’s community
in form of community service. Everybody should know that every service that they render to the
group is like doing service to God. When a person does good things, good issues happen to those
individuals.
3. In your own opinion what is the best outreach program you can give to a Community or
Institution (Community/Institution where you conducted the outreach activity)? (10
sentences)
Outreach is an activity of providing services to any populations who might not otherwise
have access to those services. A key component of outreach is that the groups providing it are not
stationary, but mobile; in other words they are meeting those in need of outreach services at the
locations where those in need are.
Having this ideas of outreach program for the children in Brgy. San Roque can help them
to build their own selves and to learn more about anything. Well I guess the best outreach
program or let's say not that best is tutor children during or after school, give free music lessons
to schoolchildren or donate used children's books to a school library. All about school because
we all know that education is very important tool for the people all over the world to make
balance of life and its existence on earth. Each and every individual need proper education to
enhance their own life standards as well as become a part of the social and economic growth of
their own.
Always remember that when you are organizing a community service you must need to
meet people where they are. Be respectful. Listen to your community and build trust and
relationships.
