CHAPTER 1

The Problem and Its Background

Introduction

Bullying is rampant at the school even primary and secondary. It

possesses small and big things which may cause the victim not to be

comfortable. We can say that the victim of Bullying but the real situation about

the Bullying.

According to Human Rights (2012) defined Bullying is that when people are

repeatedly and intentionally use words or actions against someone or group of

people cause to distress and risk their wellbeing.

Anyone can define as Bullying for him/her for us. They might be use a verbal

word called “hiwar”. Hiwar is another name which means boasting your name

for specific reasons. Even it is not it seems that it makes you feel that you are

alone or surrounded by people does not like you. It is a problem because more

of them are afraid to inform. Most of them are just think that I can overcome it

but inside of them they hurt.

“Bullying is all about behavior, how a person interacts and behaves”. Aspects of

our life that connects with our actions made. It is also the behavior among

ourselves that we take advantage the behavior of the bullies. To the person

used how to communicate with others that to their friends. It seems to be that

what behavior they have is what the acts they will do.
Theoretical Framework

Social cognitive theory is premised on the notion that humans learn by

observing and reflecting upon the behaviors of role models.

Social cognitive theory (SCT) is an important heuristic for understanding the

complexity of bullying behaviors and the social nature of involvement in

bullying. Bullying has been heralded as a social relationship problem and the

interplay between the individual and his or her social environment supports

this conceptualism. SCT has been used to help researcher to guide the

development of an individualize intervention for bully perpetrators. Intervening

directly with those who bully others helps understand individual variation in

bullying, as well as teaches bully perpetrators alternative, prosocial ways of

interacting with others. Student who bully others exhibit a complex a ray a

psychological, cognitive, and social characteristic.

Conceptual Framework

Bullying is a serious crime which can cause the victim to be more violent.

If they were abused they will revenge. For some reason it be can solve but there

are many times that the case of bullying will abandoned. In the Philippines it is

really rampant even it has a law. Government made their best most of the

Filipino resident specially the student violent the crime. Things may past but

case still unsolved.

Statement of the Problem

This research entitled “Bullying and Common Types of Bullying and the

Quality of Performance of CNHS-JHS: A Research Study” aimed to encourage


the students not to engage in Bullying. Bullying is one of the reasons that they

will not finish their studies.

Specifically the researchers would conduct a survey that defines what the

common types of bullying are existed in the school especially in junior high

school.

Significance

The results and findings of this research would be very a great help because

this will be served as their weapon against bullying.

Student: This will be served as a voice to the students being bullied at all.

Teachers: This study will guide as well as their cooperation to the researcher

and also the effect to the students as well.

Parents: It will help the parents to be more comfortable with their

son/daughter during class hours.

Administrators: It will be a great help because they can use it to formulate

effective solution in the case of bullying.

Assumption of the Study

The researchers assumed that after this research there will be a change of

habit of the students and there will be an improvement. It must be there will be

assurance of this study that the student will not bull there co- students.

1. The researchers assume that there wills a change of habit of the

students.
2. There will be an improvement of skills and talents of the students.

3. The relationships between the students and the teacher will be better

and they will have a better relationship.

4. The researchers assume that the students will not be hesitating to tell

to the administrators when they are bullied.

5. The researchers assume that there will a possible solution to be done

after the research.

Objectives

To identify the victims population of bullying in CNHS-JHS

To help and to lessen the bullied students

To identify the common types of bullying

Collect strategies in order to form or to create effective solution

To know the factors of the victims in academic performance

Scope and Delimitations

The research will discuss the case of bullying that is existed in the school

society. In that case we will conduct a research during school hours.

In this research the researchers focuses on the population of grade and

grade 9 students of CNHS-JHS. To know the types of Bullying is existed in the

school. The research will be conducted at CNHS-JHS on July to October 2019.

Definition of Terms

Bullying- words or action against someone or a group of people cause disrisk

and cause of wellbeing.


Quality- characteristic or feature that someone or something has. Something

that can notice as part of person or a thing.

Performance- an activity that actor /actress performs Sapart. A person or

group does to entertain an audience.
