Unit 7 Assignment - Conflict in the Workplace

Executive Summary

Workplace conflict is inevitable when employees of various backgrounds and different

work styles are brought together for a shared business purpose. I have been appointed as the new

administrator in company which have no conflict resolution policy. Conflicts can influence

organization in both way the positive way and the negative way. Some conflict become too much

serious for organizations which can lead to disruption of organization development approaches

such as conflicts between team members. Conflict can—and should—be managed and resolved.

In this Executive summary I will highlight the key steps and will present an overview of conflict

management plan which will be helpful for the organization to resolve the current conflict. The

first steps in handling workplace conflict belong, in most cases, to the employees who are at odds

with one another. There are different approaches which will be helpful for organization to

overcomes these kinds of conflicts.

Being as administrator, and HR experts—is critical, in any case, and is grounded in the

advancement of a work environment culture intended to avoid conflict among representatives to

the degree conceivable. The reason for such a culture is solid worker relations, to be specific,

reasonableness, trust and common regard at all dimensions. This toolbox offers recommendations

to make such a hierarchical atmosphere and incorporates techniques to manage representative

complaints and conflicts.

Following are the key step for resolution of current conflict in the organizations. There are number

of reasons based on which the companies have conflicts few of them are following

Work Place behaviors and Personality differences.


Unclarified roles and Perceived inequities of resources.

1. Identification of Conflict

2. Calling Meeting for involved groups

3. As an administrator establish discussion rules

4. Knowing the Actual Cause of conflict

5. Establish a common goal for both parties

6. Discussing the possible ways to meet the common goal

7. Determine the barriers to the common goal

8. Agree on the best way to resolve the conflict

9. Acknowledge the agreed upon solution and determine the responsibilities each party has

in the resolution.
