Topic: Immediate Postpartum Care

Topic Description: Labor, birth, and the immediate postnatal/postpartum care period are the most critical for newborn and maternal survival. In this learning plan, the health
educators will impart their knowledge on the definition of postpartum period, focusing on the routine postpartum care, the possible complications and the corresponding dependent
and independent nursing interventions in order to provide safe, quality, and effective health care.

Central Objective: At the end of the presentation in class, the student nurses will be able to identify measures and utilize the nursing process in the care of mother during the
postpartum period. Given the appropriate strategies and procedures, they will be able to prioritize use of human, material, financial, and other resources to achieve expected health
outcomes for the mother and the newborn.
