Berlin,
Start Point
Germany
Welcome to the vibrant city of Berlin. The capital of Germany, this modern and stimulating city
has a lot to be discovered. After being devastated during WWII, the city has rebuilt into a
modern oasis and managed to keep its tradition and history in the process. Both the capital and
largest city in Germany, Berlin has seen its fair share of division. In 1961, East German soldiers
lay down the foundations for the infamous Berlin Wall, which was to divide the Soviet controlled
East side of the city and the democratic West side. This turbulent time eventually came to an
end in 1989 followed by the demolition of the wall in 1991. To this day, a part remains as a
reminder of history and is a must see while in Berlin. You can also visit Checkpoint Charlie, the
most well known crossing point between the east and west sides.
Come evening, experience some of Berlin’s world famous nightlife. Club culture and all things
techno radiate through the city, drawing party goers from all over. Beyond the nightclubs, Berlin
has a thriving music scene of jazz, punk and everything in between, with venues dotted all over
the city.
