    Why Abortion Should Be Illegal

    Abortion in the United States was legalized through the Roe v. Wade decision. Many

    people did not agree with this decision. Therefore, they consider abortion to be murder.

    Abortion is often considered murder. Abortion is basically the same thing as killing a

    little baby that’s alive; the only difference is that the baby is in its mother’s womb. Some people

    believe that it’s not considered murder because the baby is still inside the mother’s womb, but

    they don’t realize that the heart and brain of the baby is already formed. As John Baldwin states,

    “the fetus is a human being from the moment of conception, this means abortion is murder,

    which is immoral and should be illegal” (Baldwin 1). Obviously, some individuals believe that

    life is created immediately when people interact. A pregnancy ended before birth is considered

    murder.

    Adoption is a better option than abortion. Adoption is a great thing to consider if

    someone is thinking about having an abortion. Giving a child up for adoption is the smartest

    option if thinking about having an abortion due to the fact that there is many women out there

    who are not able to have a baby and would love to adopt one; “As of 2002 there were

    approximately 2.6 million women or 14% of American women waiting to adopt children, only

    just over 1% managed to complete an adoption.” (Anderson 1). Why kill a baby if there is a

    caring person who would love to adopt the baby?

    Everyone should have responsibility for their own actions. Some women think that

    having an abortion is an easy way to avoid having a baby. “It sounds very easy; however, it

    sounds that they lack responsibility for their behavior to me. Abortion means to kill a new life

    and to endanger a woman's body. It seems that people who have an abortion easily think the

    fetus is just a "thing." If they don't want to have a baby, there are ways to avoid having a baby

    before pregnancy.” (Kuroda 1). This explains that even if a baby is not born it still has a

    heartbeat; therefore, the child is living and it’s considered murder to abort it.

    Abortion doesn’t only hurt the innocent baby, but can also harm the women having the

    abortion. According to Live Action News; “Harm comes in a variety of forms – mental,

    emotional, relational, and physical – and in some cases, women’s lives are lost through abortion.

    They can also experience the loss of their fertility or an increase in miscarriages after an

    abortion.” (Brown 1). For the following reason, abortion is also unhealthy for the mother.

    Overall, even if a baby is aborted before birth, it is still considered murder. There are

    many reasons to prove that abortion is murder. Abortion can hurt emotionally, physically, and

    mentally, therefore it should be made illegal.
