EXTENSION History
Each historical period has specific features. The form of government, the customs, the
clothing or the type of housing vary over time, so it is possible to relate these aspects to
a specific period.

Historical sources are the basic tools for understanding history. There is a set of historical
sources that you can use to become a historian. Historians study and organise human
history.
1 You are going to learn the history of your family. To do this, you will follow these steps:
a) Choose one of your relatives. It can be one of your parents, grandparents or uncles or
aunts. The older he or she is, the more historical the information you will get. Who did
you choose?
b) Now, you must interview him/her. You can ask the following questions:
1. In what year were you born?
2. In what town?

omplete your research by finding a graphic source as well as any other type of
historical source. What have you found?
