many people getting enlightened day by day concerning decency and being smart.
The technology in this industry is improving at a very high rate due to technology applied in

Shalom Textile will capitalize on quality of the products for this is the major weakness with its

serve them effectively.

2.3 C. COMPETITION

Competition involves operation of a business with same products and services and it’s inevitable in all
business. There are 4 major competitors OF Shalom Textile. These are: Joncy Textile, Kalenjin Uniforms
and Shah and Sons Textile Ltd

(i) JONCY TEXTILE

This Textile shop is located at the lower part of Eldoret town along Troccadero Road. This is around 700
Meters from Shalom Textile. They are medium competitors of Shalom Textile the main reason why they
might see slightly higher number of customers than Shalom Textile at the beginning because they offer
pleating service done by flat ironing.

(ii) CHEMOS TAILORING & TEXTILE

This shop is located at the end of the town along the Highway, Uganda Road. This is not a busy area
since it’s surrounded by vehicle spare parts shops and green groceries shops. Chemos Tailoring 7 Textile
is not a real threat to Shalom Textile.

(iii) KALENJI UNIFORMS

This Textile shop is located about 400 meters from Shalom Textile. It majors in uniform distribution in
schools and they stitch them. They also sale textile products such as needles, threads among others,
which are available at Shalom textile.

(iv) SHAH & SONS TEXTILE LTD

This is our core competitors. They are located on the other stage of the main stage in Eldoret town.
This shows that Shah and Sons faces Shalom across the main bus station. The main reason why they are
a core competitor is because they are the major uniform fabric distributors in Eldoret town. In addition
at every New Year as parents admit their children to school. Shah & sons receive a large number of
customers purchasing either ready made uniforms or tailors buying fabrics for mass production. Its
location is convenient to bulk customers who will require transport services either within town or
outside the town.

Even with these competitions Shalom Textile will enjoy the large number of customers operating from
within its building as well as around it. Since Shalom deals with selling of African attires which are
popular among women and men as well as for casual ware then Shalom still stands out among its
competitors.
