Table Name Description
Service Indicator data by Institution, Emplid and Service Indicator. Includes
SRVC_IND_DATA
Service Indicator Reason, Department and Dates.
Active Service Indicator data by Emplid and Institution. Limited to service
indicators that have an Active Date (SRVC_IND_ACTIVE_DT) as of current
SS_SRVC_IND_VW
date. Includes Service Indicator Reason, Department and Dates.

Service Indicator history audit record by Emplid, Institution, Service
AUDIT_SRVC_IND Indicator Code, Audit Date Time Stamp and Action. Includes Service

STUDENT GROUPS
Table Name Description
Data Services view built from STDNT_GRPS_HIST and STDNT_GROUP_TBL to
efficiently query term active students in Student Groups by Emplid,
VCS_STDNT_GROUP Institution, Student Group and Term. Includes Description and Comments.
(Recommended) Assigns Terms based on the Student Group Active when the effective date
less than or equal to Term End dates.
Recommended in place of STDNT_GRPS_HIST and STDNT_GROUP_TBL
CLASS DATA
Table Name Description
Schedule of Classes data by Institution, Term and Class Number. Includes
Academic Group and Organization, Subject, Catalog Number, Campus, Enroll
Status, Class Status, Capacity and Enrollment totals and the Associated Class
Number. The combination of Course ID, Course Offer Number, Term,
Session and Class Section creates the unique Class Number within a Term.
CLASS_TBLP
Course Catalog records are what feeds the Class records.
Parent record to CLASS_ASSOC, CLASS_MTG_PAT, CLASS_ATTRIBUTE,
CLASS_RSRV_CAP and CLASS_NOTES.
Note: The CLASS_TBL.EMPLID field in this record should not be joined with
any table. Including but not limited to CLASS_INSTR and STDNT_ENRL.
Schedule of Classes Units data by Course Id, Course Offer Number, Term,
Session and Associated Class. Includes Units. Course Catalog records are
CLASS_ASSOCP
what feeds the Class records.
Child record to CLASS_TBL.
Schedule of Classes Dynamic Dated data by Course Id, Course Offer Number,
Term, Session and Class Section. Classes that do not follow within the
DYN_CLASS_DATA
regular term session calendar dates are setup as Dynamically Dated classes.

Data Services view built from CLASS_TBL joined to CLASS_INSTR to
VCS_CLASS_INSTR efficiently query term class instructor data. Includes Instructor Name,
(Recommended) Term, Institution, Class number and Instructor Role.
Recommended instead of CLASS_INSTR when meeting pattern data is not
needed
Delivered view from CLASS_INSTR, TERM_TBL, CLASS_MTG_PAT,
CLASS_TBL, CRSE_CATALOG, NAMES to efficiently query Schedule of Classes
data. Includes Term, Emplid, Class Number, Instructor Name, Academic
Group, Subject, Catalog Nbr, Class Section, Enroll Total, Meeting Times and
INSTR_CLASS_VW
Facility.

It is recommended to use VCS_CLASS_INSTR for Class and Instructor data
when meeting pattern data is not needed.
Recommended instead of CLASS_INSTR when Class and Meeting Pattern
data are both needed.
COURSE/CLASS REQUIREMENTS
Table Name Description
Requirement Groups by Requirement Group, Requirement Usage
(Enrollment or Advisement) and Institution. Includes Description,
Academic Career, Academic Program and Academic Plan which are
populated if an Advisement usage, but Academic Program and Academic
Plan may also be blank. When the Requirement Group is an Enrollment
usage then you may see Academic Group populated but may also be blank.

This record can be joined to CLASS_RSRV_CAP.RQRMNT_GROUP to get the
Class Reserve description.
RQ_GRP_TBLEP
This record can be joined to CRSE_OFFER.RQRMNT_GROUP to get the
Course Requisites description.
This record can be joined to CLASS_ASSOC.RQRMNT_GROUP to get the Class
Requisites description.
This record can be joined to SAA_ADB_RESULTS.RQRMNT_GROUP and
SAA_ADB_CRSEUSE.RQRMNT_GROUP
Note: Once a Course with a Requirement Group
(CRSE_OFFER.RQRMNT_GROUP) is scheduled as a Class, the Course level
Requirement Group does not populate in Class Associations table
(CLASS_ASSOC.RQRMNT_GROUP). The Requirement Group field in the
Class Associations table may contain a class section level Requirement
Group. There is a Y/N flag in the Class Associations table that represents the
use of a Course Requirement Group – CLASS_ASSOC.USE_CATLG_RQS.

COURSE/CLASS FEES
Table Name Description
Schedule of Classes Fee data by Set ID, Course ID, Course Offer Nbr, Term,
Session, Class Section and Class Component. Includes Charge Method
(1=Always Charge Term Tuition, 2=Do Not Include in Term Tuition) and
Charge Course Fee flag. When Charge Method is set to 2, then the class
units are not assessed or included in the count of regular tuition and fee
bearing charges, the Class Fee is the only thing that his charged. When
CLASS_FEE_TBLP
Charge Method is set to 1, the Class Fee is added to regular tuition and fee
charges.
Note: A class section may have both a Class Fee and a Course Fee and both
tables must be queried for details as the Course Fee does not populate the
Class Fee tables. There is a Course Fee Flag in the Class Fee tables that
indicates if a Course Fee is also associated with the Class Section.
Schedule of Class Fee data by Set ID, Course ID, Course Offer Number, Term,
Session, Class Section and Class Component. Includes Account Type, Item
Type and Amount Per Unit or Flat Amount. The field
CLASS_SBFEE_TBL
SSF_CRITR_EQUTN_SW identifies if an Equation Engine is being used to
select the fee criteria. If E = Equation Engine used, C= Class Fee Setup
Criteria used.
Course Catalog Fee data by Set ID, Course and Component. Includes
Institution, Campus (is populated when course fee is specific to a campus
else when blank then Course Fee is applied to all campus sections), Term,
Session and Charge Method (1=Always Charge Term Tuition, 2=Do Not
Include in Term Tuition). When Charge Method is set to 2, then the class
CRSE_FEE_TBLP units are not assessed or included in the count of regular tuition and fee

Effective Date and Sequence. Includes Program Status (Active,
Discontinued, Completed, etc.), Program Action (Matriculation, Plan
Change, Data Change, etc.), Program Action Reason that describes the
corresponding Program Action (Inactivity, Expected Graduation Term, etc.),
Expected Grad Term, Degree Checkout Status (Applied, Awarded, etc.),
Admit Term, Campus, Application Number and Completion Term.
ACAD_PROGE Parent record to ACAD_PLAN

Note: Join TERM_TBL when joining to a term based table such as

Note: When joining TERM_TBL join on ACAD_CAREER in addition to STRM
or set the ACAD_CAREER = ‘UGRD’
Note: When joining to ADM_APPL tables, do not join on STDNT_CAR_NBR,

This table stores the official FTE reporting data for the State Board by Data
CTC_STDNT_FTE Services. An Application Engine populates this table from a main SQL with
(Recommended) several updates to the data based on rule specific criteria during the
process. All of the FTE views use this as their base.
RUNNING START
Table Name Description
Setup table for Running Start High School Districts by Institution, High
CTC_RS_HSDS_TBLEP
School District Code and Effective Date. Includes Description.
Data Services view that efficiently joins the custom ctcLink Running Start
record CTC_STDNT_RS that is populated by an Application Engine to track
running start students by Emplid, Career, Institution, Term and Effective
VCS_STDNT_RS
Date. Includes External Org ID, High School Dist Code, Grade level, FTE and
(Recommended)
FTE Capacity with the description for their High School, District and the
Student name.
Recommended to select Running Start FTE, High School data
Data Services view that efficiently queries students in the Running Start
VCS_RUN_START student groups SRSR and SRSL by Emplid and Term. Includes Running

ANALYSIS DATABASE
Table Name Description
This table contains the results for academic structure and requirement
processing level data in the Academic Advisement Analysis Database by
Emplid, Analysis DB Sequence, Career, Entry Sequence, Report Date and
Transcript Type. Includes Program, Plan, Requirement, Requirement Line
number, Units Required, Units Used, Units Needed, GPA Required, GPA
Actual and Item Status.
Each time a report is generated, the results are stored in this table with an
incrementing Analysis DB Sequence. Must choose Max Analysis DB
SAA_ADB_RESULTS
Sequence and the Max SAA Entry Sequence for most accurate results.
Transcript Types are ADV – Advisement, PLN - Planner and WIF – What If
Note: There is a Data Services view that can easily be joined to this table
on that is already coded to pull these Max fields for the ADV transcript type
called VCS_ADV_MAX_SEQ and to identify the Institution from the
Requirement Group for Total Units.
