Active seat
John Deere Active Seat with electronic-hydraulic technology and air
suspension provides:
• The smoothest ride in the industry.

• Greater operator comfort through reduced fatigue facilitating
the operator to work longer hours.
• For operations where operating speeds are not limited by
implements, the John Deere Active Seat can allow for faster
operating speeds and increases in overall productivity.
But how does it work?
Active seat function

The Active Seat control system minimizes operator movement by sensing vertical inputs and actively positioning the
vertical seat movement is reduced:
The Active Seat system can isolate the operator from up to 90% of vertical movement as experienced in typical tractor
operations.
The Active Seat uses a hydraulic cylinder that is

connected to a control valve assembly (A).
Electro-hydraulic valves located in the control valve

assembly act on inputs from 2 sensors,
a position sensor (B) and an accelerometer (C).
Inputs from these 2 sensors control oil flow from the

tractor to the hydraulic cylinder to reduce the
vertical movements of the operator.
Controlling Active Seat

Seat adjustment of Active seats is logical and effective:
Horizontal adjustment is located on the right front of the seat while you find
swivel adjustment on the left front of the seat.
Seat height and weight adjustments are conveniently located on the left
armrest (A). Please press lower portion of switch to lower or upper portion to
raise the seat.
Additionally a ride firmness switch is added (B) to choose one of the three
firmness positions:
Plus (+) providing firmest degree of ride.
Minus (-) providing softest ride firmness.
Mid position providing medium ride firmness.

John Deere Semi-Active Seat Suspension
Experience the difference with the semi-active seat suspension RE232770 !
The suspension retrofits in 7020, 7030, 8000, 8010, 8020, 8030, 9000, 9020 and 9030 Series Wheel
Tractors and provides operators superior ride quality over conventional air suspensions. Drivers will be
able to comfortably operate their equipment at higher ground speeds, increasing productivity and
reducing fatigue.
How the Semi-Active Seat Suspension works

The semi-active suspension contains air suspension components with two important additions - a cylinder
containing Magnetorheological (MR) fluid and a controller. These components electronically dampen the
ride by exposing the MR fluid to a variable magnetic field around the piston orifice. This changes the
viscosity of the fluid and thereby assists the air suspension with dampening.
The suspension also contains new horizontal and lateral isolators that offer significant improvements in
vibration isolation and end-stop control.

John Deere Semi-Active Seat vs. John Deere Active Seat

The John Deere Active Seat is the premium offering and by far the most superior ride improvement over
air suspension technology. The new semi-active seat suspension allows customers with 7020, 7030,
8000, 8010, 8020, 8030, 9000, 9020 and 9030 Series Wheel Tractors to significantly improve ride quality
over their existing air suspension but it will not equal the ride quality of the John Deere Active Seat. The
Active Seat has more sophisticated controls that allow for the best ride in the industry while the semi-
active suspension gives owners the opportunity to improve ride quality over their air suspension.

instructional seat may be folded down to be used as a desktop area. The instructional seat is mounted ahead of the

Seat heater kit
Seat heater kit for 7000-9000 tractor series fabric seats

All seats on John Deere Waterloo tractors with leather cushions are
heated to keep you warm during the cold season. But what to do if
you have a fabric seat installed on you tractor? John Deere presents
a solid way to retrofit your 7000, 8000 and 9000 series tractor with a
seat heater kit.
This three-temperature (high, medium, and low settings) seat heater
kit has a digital controller with illuminated switch for more accurate
and consistent heating. This system also includes an automatic shut-
off function after one hour of continuous operation and diagnostic
feedback capabilities that are already covered in the 8020 Tractor
technical manuals.
The seat heaters do not change the look of the seat, but they do enhance the feel and comfort. Each seat heater
system is individually fused and safely wired into the tractor’s electrical system. A separate illuminated switch is
provided with each system. The kit is tractor specific, so no trimming or cutting is necessary making installation quick,
easy, and more reliable.

• The wiring harnesses, fuse, and hardware install out of sight
After starting your tractor on a cold morning, simply switch on your seat heater and feel the warmth radiate
through the seat. When the seat heats to the selected temperature, it will maintain the temperature for one hour.
The gradual warming effect should be felt within one to three minutes. The heater will continue to increase for
10 to 15 minutes depending on the temperature setting chosen.

John Deere's ActiveSeat uses electro-hydraulic technology in

combination with air suspension, providing the operator with enhanced
ride-quality over standard air suspension seats.
Active Seat suspension Operator movements are monitored for vertical movements while the
system "actively" positions the seat so that effects of the vertical seat
movement are reduced. An ActiveSeat suspension can isolate the
operator from up to 90% of vertical movements as seen in typical tractor
applications.
The lateral suspension absorbs vibrations and shocks coming crosswise

to the driving direction protecting the driver’s back, especially the lumbar
area
