TESTING
VARIES TYPES OF
MATERIAL USED FOR
PRODUCTION SO THERE IS
LOTS OF CHANCES TO MIX-
MACHINE”
UP THE DIFFERENT GRADE
MATERIAL TO EACH OTHER.
THIS MIXING OF MATERIAL
CAUSES LOTS OF PROBLEMS
MECHANICAL SPONSORED AND IT IS UNECONOMICAL
TO INDUSTRY.SEPERATION
Spark and Spectral testing it is practically volley divided into two Parts.
1) Spark generation
2) Spark Inspection
Both Operations depend on to each other. But the equipment Divided into four parts. &
effective working is depending on the Performance of all these four units. We have
basically introduced this inspection method to avoid Material mix up in manufacturing
forging industries.
A sponsor using a lot of material grades to manufacture forging item like crankshaft,
conrod, and rocker etc. Material mix up at various stages is not possible to avoid 100%.
So this test is done at end of all operation that is at dispatch end.
In this test chrome, molly, and carbon element are used to segregate the material mix up.
In metascopic language, different colour codes are used for chrome, molly and carbon.
This colour identification is used in this testing machine to inspect the components. This
is one step forward towards new technology considering the base of Metascope. In some
cases in manufacturing industries, material mix up process is done with the help of a
grinding machine. Spark is generated by conventional grinding machine & test is carried
out on the judgment of the operator, so we have done this testing machine. With the
concept of the sponsor with our ideas &thoughts. This will definitely help to sponsor to
improve productivity to reduce cycle time with quality standard.

OBJECTIVE:
1) To study procedure of Material Testing.
2) To avoid a material mix-up.
3) To study of working of Special Purpose Machine.
4) To understand how to manufacturing a Special Purpose Machine.
5) To study machine design Procedure.
6) To study manufacturing procedures used for the machine design.
RESULT:
While the testing of material we identified the elements in the material by the line shown
in below the pointer. there are various line shown depending upon the material but we
required lines only for molybdenum and chromium. Which shown only green line. but
differences between the representation of molybdenum and chromium is that the single
dark line shown below the pointer indicate molybdenum present in steel and the line absent
that indicate the molybdenum not present in steel.
The representation of chromium is same as molybdenum but there are two lines are present
below the pointer. This differences because of the properties of the material and their
wavelengths.
Molybdenum Present
Molybdenum Absent
In the above image, we can see there is a number of the green lines. The faint single green
line below the pointer represents molybdenum absent in steel.
Chromium Present
Chromium Absent
In the above image, we can see there is a number of the green lines. The faint double
green line below the pointer represents Chromium absent in steel.
