Drill Pipe Slips SDXL, SDML, SDS

The SD Style Drill Pipe Slip has a unique full wrap around grip and insert design to prevent
damage to the drill pipe.
The design of the slips with its dove tail slots holds the inserts securely in place and are
easily changed for different size pipes. Three different sizes; short, medium and long
covers the shallowest and deepest wells.

Each segment of Varco design Drill Collar slips is a rugged drop forging, with an extra
long back to provide maximum support to the circular button gripping elements. Full
wrap-around design and circular buttons assure positive holding and slip setting. Drill
Collar slips are flat on top to accommodate the MP Clamp

BNC TYPE ELEVATOR

BNC TYPE ELEVATOR

Varco's line of BNC 100, 150, 175, 250, and 350 ton capacity drill pipe elevators stand up
to the toughest oilfield conditions. Easy to use, simple to maintain, and ruggedly built.
Lifting and closing requires 1/3 less effort than other elevators. The hanging angle is most
convenient for latching onto a stand of pipe, whether by the floorman or the derrickman.
The narrow profile latch provides a straight opening, so pipe can be dropped straight in.
The elevator is balanced in design for easier handling. These Varco elevators feature a
special safety latch mechanism. Rough neck proven by field test and roughneck proof by
design and construction.

The Front and rear hinge pins are oversized and made of high strength alloy for maximum
life and minimum maintenance. These features mean less wear and longer life.
Varco Elevators are fully API Spec. 8A rated. To assure quality, every elevator is pull tested
to 11/2 times rated load, and then magnetic particle inspected before shipment. The Varco
BNC Drill pipe elevators handle 2-3/8 inch thru 5 inch OD drill pipe with 18-degree upset
tool joints. The inside surface of the elevator is induction hardened to provide maximum
strength and long service. Less wears means less replacement and lower maintenance
cost.

MGG Type DP Elevator

18o Type Elevators G Series G series elevators are similar in design and construction to
the A series, except they are bored to fit the contour of 18o type drill pipe.
They are constructed in two halves of practically the same weight for better balance,
making them easier to handle; easier to latch on and take off the pipe. In open position, a
G-series elevator hangs ready for closing at any point below the upset of the pipe. Safety
features include guarded operating handles to help prevent accidents to operators and an
extra handle at the rear of the elevator for easier, safer operation.
Collar Type Elevators A Series Center-latch elevators are for handling collar type drill
pipe, casing and tubing. All type elevators are constructed in two halves of practically the
same weight, providing proper balance and easier opening and closing. In open position,
the elevator hangs ready for closing at any point below the upset of the pipe.

All type elevators feature latch and safety latch lock combinations. Safety features include
guarded operating handles to help prevent accidents to operators and an extra handle at
the rear of the elevator
Side Door Type Elevators
X Series The X-series elevators handle all sizes of collar-type tubing, drill pipe and casing.
The SLX has a shielded safety latch mounted on the elevator door. The shield protects the
latch from accidental opening.
Both latches operate from a single handle, and then automatically relatch when the
elevator door is closed. The Type SX side- door elevator, designed for handling large,
collar-type casing, is a sturdier, safety- latch-equipped version of X-series elevators.

SLX Elevator

Air Operated Elevators Varco BJ offers a complete line of air operated elevators with
rated capacities ranging from 150 to 500 ton capacity.

The TA-150 is a center-latch elevator for handling zip groove drill collars from 4 3/4" to 11
1/2" with a capacity of 150 tons. The GGis a center-latch elevator for handling 18 degree
external upset drill pipe from 4" to 5 1/ 2" with a rated capacity of 350 tons. The
HGG handles the same pipes from 4Ў± to 6 5/8" with a 500 ton rated capacity.
The MGG is also a center latch elevator for handling 18 deg. external upset drill pipe sizes
3 1/2" to 5 1/2Ў± with a rated capacity of 250 tons. The HYC is a slip type elevator to
handle tubulars from 2 7/8" t hrough 7 5/8" rated capacity 250 ton.

SSC TYPE ELEVATOR

SSC TYPE ELEVATOR(Square Shoulder Center Latch Elevator)

Like all Varco products, the 100 and 150 ton SSC Elevators are distinguished by their
innovative design, engineering excellence and metallurgical quality. These elevators are
characterized by features which improve crew efficiency and reduce fatigue.

Pipe can be stabbed straight into the SSC elevator. Varco's narrow profile latch design
provides a wide, clear opening without obstruction, allowing crews to work more quickly.
Lifting and closing the Varco elevator requires a fraction of the force needed to lift the close
other elevators, because the SSC is so well balanced.

An oversized hinge pin provides maximum distribution of load to minimize wear. All
elevators are fully API rated. To assure individual quality, each elevator is pull-tested to 1
1/2 times rated load and then magnetic particle inspected before shipment.
The Varco SSC elevator is available in three frame sizes and can handle tubular goods
ranging in size from 2 3/8 thru 8 5/8 inches.

Square Shoulder Side Door Elevator (SSD Type).

A range of models are available to handle drill collar sizes from 6 3/4 thru 11 1/4 inches
OD and casing sizes from 6 5/8 to 20 1/2 inches OD.

Varco Elevators hang at less of an angle than other elevators. This means that they
require far less effort to lift and close, reducing crew fatigue and improving performance.
Drill Collar or casing can be stabbed directly into Varco elevators and the tool's narrow
profile latch design provides a wide, clear opening, without obstruction.

All Varco elevators are fully API Rated and meet Varco's tough standards for quality, and

SLIP TYPE ELEVATOR

Varco BJ "Y" Series elevators are conventional slip type elevators for handling tubing and
small casing. There are 7 types ranging from 20 to 200 ton capacity and covering pipe
sizes from 1.05 to 7 5/8 inchese OD. They feature a four slip design which give an
optimum contact on the pipe to prevent bttlenecking and gauge damage.
The Varco BJ "YC" type elevator is capable of handling dual tubing strings. All type "Y"
series elevator operate with the latch lock combination for safety. The "MYC" and "YC"
provide a 7" and the "HYC" a 10 1/2" of intert contact to grip your casing or tubing.

CASING ELEVATOR/SPIDER

Slip action is controlled by a conveniently positioned pneumatic control valve or, in the
case of the 200 ton tool, by simple manual operation. All pneumatically controlled units
operate by utilizing the rig air supply. For maximum crew safety, the system may be
manually operated if rig air pressure is temporarily lost. Further safety is insured by a
positive locking mechanism which locks slips in the set position.

The elevators utilize both a bottom guide and a bell guide to simplify stabbing. A top guide
on spiders helps to centralize casing.

Each tool is individually tested to assure consistency, durability and a high level of quality.
Elevators/Spiders exceed API test requirements for hoisting tools. Each tool is proof-tested
at 1 1/2 times rated load and then subjected to magnetic particle inspection to verify
metallurgical quality.

Elevator/Spider independent action allows each slip to move inward radially. Each slip then
grips the casing at the original point of contact and the casing is centered as the slips are
set. This is accomplished without putting stress on the casing or elevator/spider slip hinges.
In addition, the backs of the slips maintain full contact with the double stepped bowl to
provide complete slip back up.

MAST BUSHING
Master Bushings are designed for SQ and Pin drive
Kelly bushings from sizes 17-1/2" to 37-1/2" rotary
tables. The pin drive allows the use of ex- tended insert
bowls to meet flush with the top of table which means
better slip support and preventing damage to drill pipe.
The SQ drive bushing has a 4" deep recess to used with
the SQ drive Kelly bushings. Short and medium style slips are used in the SQ drive for
shallower depth and drilling.

MANUAL TONG
Manual Tongs are constructed from the finest alloy steel, all machined surfaces are
held to a close tolerance. All parts are heat treated for maximum strength, a
magnetic particle inspection is performed to detect cracks in the metal. All tongs
are tested for performance before shipping. All tong dies are made from carburized
alloy steel, they are heat treated for extreme hardness and strength. Tong sizes are
available to cover drill pipe and casing sizes from 1.900" OD through 30" OD.
Torque rating will vary with the size of lug jaw used.

THE BLUE DIAMOND DIE
The blue diamond die offers superior performance by providing better utilization of its
unique griping surface. The tech are crowned at the middle of the die, rather than being
the same height along its full length. This crowned profile reduces end loading and
assures a quick, positive (but gentle) grip under all torque loads. The results are greater
efficiency and longer wear, with less marking and scarring of pipe. As a bonus feature, all
dies are heat-treated with a special BJ process that assures uniform tooth hardness long
life. Look for the unique diamond tooth pattern and distinctive blue finish. "RED TOP" tong
dies: For those who prefer a standard-type die, BJ offers Red Top dies in a full range of
types and sizes for use in manual drill pipe and casing tongs. Red Top dies are
manufactured in three tired and proven tooth styles, as shown on this page: Pyramid, Plain
and Coarse.

HYDRAULIC DRILL PIPE TONG

Based on Varco Big Foot,The Iron Roughneck working principal, our Power Drilling Tong is
a safer, more efficient system for tripping pipe. A combination of the proven Hydraulic
spinning wrench and the hydraulic torque wrench, it provides fast, accurate stabbing and
quick, controlled spin up. Pipe can be torqued to precise, consistent values without
creating bending stresses in the drilling string. That alone can save you a lot of tool joints
and drill pipe. Comparing to Varco Big Foot,The Iron Roughneck, our power tong is more
compact, more easier to instal and operate and more less maintenance job required but
with all perfect features of Big Foot being applied.

By using such Power tong, Rig floow hazards casued by the spinning chain, the tongs and
tongs lines are eliminated.

The power tong is hydraulically powered, so speed control is smooth and variable. You
can adjust for fast spin up of drill pipe or slow, controlled spin up for "walking-in" drill collars.
This minimizes cross-threading, "thread burn" and permit proper spin up of the engaged
threads- all crtitical factors in the longevity of expensive tool joints.A fully reversible feature
permits pipe to be spun out intead of rotating out with the table, avoiding possible damage
to the wall cake and eliminating hazardous floor conditions.
