The key takeaways are that firefighter apprentices are required to develop and deliver a community risk reduction presentation to help educate the public and reduce risks. They will learn about risk reduction, choose a target audience, outline their presentation, and deliver it to their crew or the target group.

The goal of the community outreach assignment is for apprentice firefighters to outline a strategic risk reduction process and implement a public education presentation to understand risk reduction for different community groups and accept responsibility for reducing risks.

The steps involved in developing and delivering a community risk reduction presentation are to watch informational videos, read materials on the topic, answer questions, develop an outline that identifies the audience and strategy, schedule a presentation, design the delivery, and evaluate the effectiveness.
