    Applies to ofloxacin otic: otic solution
    As well as its needed effects, ofloxacin otic may cause unwanted side effects that require medical attention.

    Severity: Major
    If any of the following side effects occur while taking ofloxacin otic, check with your doctor
    immediately:

    Burning, itching, redness, skin rash, swelling, or other sign of irritation not present before use of this
    medicine

    If any of the following side effects occur while taking ofloxacin otic, check with your doctor or nurse as
    soon as possible:
    Less common
    Dizziness
    Rare
    Bleeding from the ear
    fast heartbeat
    fever
    headache
    ringing in the ear
    runny or stuffy nose
    sore throat

    Some ofloxacin otic side effects may not need any medical attention. As your body gets used to the medicine

    Local side effects have included pruritus (1% to 4%), application site reaction (1%), earache (1%), rash (1%),
    otorrhagia (<1%), and otitis externa.[Ref]

    Nervous system
    Nervous system side effects have included dizziness (1%), paresthesia (1%), vertigo (0.5% to 1%), tinnitus
    (0.3%), headache (0.3%), dysesthesia, hypesthesia, hyperkinesia, insomnia, tremor, and pain.[Ref]

    Gastrointestinal
    Gastrointestinal side effects have included diarrhea (0.6%), vomiting (0.3%), nausea (0.3%), dry mouth
    (0.5%), abdominal pain, dyspepsia and halitosis.[Ref]
