    Church Council Notes
    The Church Council met last week in its regular monthly meeting. After giving of the
    administrative reports, Gary gave council members a packet that talked about our vision
    for 2010. The packet included the mission and vision statement from last year’s church
    conference, a demographic report on the Spiro zip code, and roles and responsibilities of
    team members. It was the consensus of the council to have a visioning conference in
    February to involve the whole church in moving forward with our vision.
    Gary shared a desire to have a special Lenten emphasis on Sunday night beginning in
    February. , using the text and study guide by Adam Hamilton on 24 Hours that Changed
    the World. Details are below.
    Monthly Newsletter to Start
    Kathy Early expressed a desire to serve in a newsletter ministry, which will be a big
    blessing to the church. It will have announcements and news from the church’s ministries, a
    short message from Gary, a monthly calendar, along with recognition of members’ special
    days and achievements and more.
    Construction Work Nearing Completion
    The gutter project is nearly done! Gary talked to the crews this week about attending
    a dedication service once it is done. Maybe it could also include pot luck! It would be nice
    if we could get the contractors to join us in a service with Linda Harker for a dedication of
    the work!
